Description

Valley Youth works with young people aged 12 to 25 years old who live, work, study or spend time in Moonee Valley. That includes: Aberfeldie, Airport West, Ascot Vale, Avondale Heights, Essendon, Essendon Fields, Flemington, Keilor East, Moonee Ponds, Niddrie, Strathmore and Travancore.

Valley Youth are a part of Moonee Valley City Council.
As part of Council, we provide a range of services, programs, committees, awards and events across Moonee Valley to support young people in learning skills, developing confidence, making connections and gaining involvement in the local community and decision making.

Our vision - A Moonee Valley where young people are thriving!

Our mission – To celebrate youth culture, promote equity and participation for all young people in Moonee Valley.

The Moonee Valley City Council Plan describes how we will work over the next four years to achieve the community’s vision for Moonee Valley: ‘A city of clean, green and beautiful, vibrant, diverse and sustainable communities that people experience as friendly and safe to live in.’
Moonee Valley faces a number of challenges and this plan identifies not only how we will respond to these challenges, but also the opportunities we will seize to make the vision a reality. All councils face similar challenges and it is important to recognise that we cannot, and do not, act alone — we work in partnership with all areas of society and other levels of government to deliver on your vision for the future.

Our work is guided by the voices and perspectives of young people as outlined in Thrive: strategy for young people. You can view it through this site: www.mvcc.vic.gov.au/about-the-council/plans-and-strategies/thrive-strategy-for-younge-people
