The Tom Quinn Community Centre has historically been actively involved in the Skilling Queenslanders for Work program. On a number of occasions we have partnered with other non for profit Community based organisations to upgrade, renovate public spaces or facilities. Examples could include renovation of club houses, scout halls or revegetation, regeneration of public areas. The TQCC would provide a skilled supervisor and workforce while partnering with another CBO who supplies materials. If you feel we could help please feel free to contact David Eke david.eke@aue.salvationarmy.org or FB message an initial expression of interest.

The Tom Quinn Community Centre Alternative School is looking for people to fill various positions. The bus driver position would be suited to someone who may be semi-retired and is looking to supplement their income. The teacher aide position may suit someone that is still studying at Uni or TAFE.

Seems to be a rumour going around town that the TQCC Cafe is closed. This is not the case, and we are well and truly open for business. Our business hours are 8 am - 2 pm Monday to Friday. Can I ask all local Facebookers to share this message. Looking forward to seeing you at the Cafe! 😀😀

A big thank you to Josh and the team from Rebel Sport Bundaberg for helping us out to purchase our new outdoor table tennis table for the School. The service offered by Rebel Sport was exceptional and we really appreciate all of their expertise and effort in helping us get this great asset for our school. We cant recommend them highly enough! Our boys love the table!

Dr. Kurt Hahn, the founder of Outward Bound once said, “We are all better than we know. If we can only come to discover this we may never again settle for anything less”

Second project for our Certificate 1 in Construction students. We will be progressing onto bulk manufactured products such as planter boxes, trestle tables using jigs. I am proud of the progress these students have made.

Another big term for Tom Quinn Community Centre Alternative School. Imagine being able to improve a students school attendance by 800 % - we did. This student went from 0.1 percent to 88 percent on enrollment at our school. The secret to success is twofold -caring teaching, support staff and volunteers and the inclusive and supportive atmosphere across the whole Centre.
