Beautiful cocktails and lovely ambience. Staff were friendly and ambience was quite relaxed. Charcuterie board was tasty and unique

We went for NYE dinner & drinks. The ambience as soon as you walk in is so romantic & moody. The architecture & furnishings have a vintage look, making it feel like you've walked into a speakeasy in the best way possible. It was perfect for date night with a cozy atmosphere & dimly lit lights. My partner & I felt overdressed at first but after a while we started to feel like we matched the atmosphere & staff.

The cucumber rose cocktail was delicious & refreshing, the rest of the drinks were of course amazing & they didn't judge us for drinking whisky with coke instead of neat. We had mozzarella & tomato's on sourdough for a starter which just tastes so delicious even though it was so simple. For mains we had an eye fillet cooked medium & cauliflower steak, both with mash potato, caramelised onions & sweet sauce. Both were divine.

The workers were all very friendly & delightful, they clearly love their job which really shows & makes the experience that much better. They also encouraged us to explore the hotel at the end which was fun. The staff who was in charge of the bar bookings was really a stand out with his overall amazing attitude.

Overall the experience, food & drinks were definitely worth the price which I felt was fair for the quality. Would definitely recommend to a friend & will hopefully come again for date night.

Beautiful atmosphere with incredible dim lit ambience. This place is wonderful for drinks and light food however the mains were absolutely delicious. The presentation of the food was beautiful and well priced. The waitress, Maya, was especially thoughtful and kind. We wholeheartedly enjoyed our night and looking forward to bringing friends here.

We had the pleasure of dining in the private room.

Food was great and unpretentious, one of the best fine dining experience in Brisbane, and the staff was attentive.

As always ovolo have good vegan/ vegetarian options.

We didn’t go there for the martini but was an enjoyable experience nonetheless.

This place is very nice 👍 not too expensive but great atmosphere and ‘Moreton Bay Bug’ spaghetti was absolutely amazing to me. I will visit again :) (staff’s recommendation drink ‘the Inchcolm Martini’ doesn’t quite agree with me though 😅)

Very funky bar in a cozy hotel 2 blocks from Queen St Mall with all day dining. Friendly staff, only reason for 4 stars was bar service was less than ideal. Mixed up both orders we made, hence we had no idea what martinis we were drinking, first world problems in a pandemic though!😀😀

We went to the restaurant and we had booked it in a week in advance. We had to wait about 10 minutes at the door before anyone paid any attention to us and we were seated. No water not even menus were brought to the table for about 45 minutes and when we asked for it, the waitress finally brought the menu. Still no water and we had to wait for another 40 minutes. Even after that, Noone came to take our orders!! It wasn’t even busy. We finally left without an apology or even a sip of water. Awful awful experience. Totally ruined the night. Avoid at any expense.

Thanks to my work I get to try a number of top notch Brisbane restaurants. For creativity, service and atmosphere SDC is right up the top. Firstly it is situated in a historic boutique hotel art decoish in style. The restaurant is down the corridor of this narrow building near the rear. The cutout is stylish and quirky. The food matches. This month we participated in a 7 course degustation for good food month and at $85 including wine, was the most amazing deal you could ever find. The courses are too numerous to mention - see the pic of menu. All courses were beautifully presented and tasted incredible. If in Brisbane do yourself a favour and try it out.

I had one of the best meals here. The food was first class, service was very good and the decor was interesting and quirky. Well done.
