  Shane is an incredible tattoo artist and person in himself. He was so incredibly delicate and he made it a very comfortable environment to be in. Out of all the tattoos I have, this is by far not only the best tattoo I have but also the best tattoo parlour I have ever been to. The amount of compliments I have received regarding this tattoo is absolutely insane. I could not recommend Shane and his work more!

  As soon as you walk in, the studio is clean and you’re greeted warmly by most of the staff. You’re offered refreshments and there are sugary treats available for you to keep your sugars up. The waiting area is comfortable and quiet.
  
  My brother and I went in so he could get his first tattoos. His appointment was for 11:30am. He got a small goldfish, a Pink Floyd inspired clock, and a flower. He was mostly happy with them, however for three very small tattoos, a 180 deposit and an extra 90 dollars because they went over time, was a bit ridiculous. Not to mention he walked out of that appointment at nearly 2pm. My appointment was scheduled for 12:30pm, I started just before 2pm. I and asked for a little beetle. I had a butterfly and a bee in the same area on the back of my arm, and I wanted to match the size and style.
  
  The lines were wonky and the finished product looked nothing like the reference picture. The wings are different sizes and the shading he’s done doesn’t match the other tats I already have and is different on both wings of the bug. Before the day was even up I was emailing other artists to see if they could fix it. All I got was that it would be too dark to fix, so I’ll need a few rounds of laser removal before it would be light enough to fix.
  
  I’m so disappointed and heartbroken that this is stuck on my body until I can afford nearly $1000 in laser removal.
  
  The service was mostly nice but my finished product was awful.

  Visited with my sister in law Claudia, we both had amazing experiences with Shane and can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend this Tattoo shop! Very professional and love our tattoos

  I went to Dark Essence and seen Shane; he was amazing and made me feel so comfortable. He took the time to ensure I loved the tattoo and took his time to finalise all the finishing touches making it look amazing.
  I am so happy with the final result.

  I never post reviews so, this indicates Dark Essence knows their stuff. (Disclaimer: I got my tattoo in May this year.)
  
  I was a walk-in client that messaged on the day. Dark Essence's replies were prompt and I got my head tattoos done by Loretta that same night. As you can see by the video and photos, symmetrical curved lines on a head is tricky business. But Loretta took extreme time and care to get the design correct, and they're a gem of a human to talk to/sit in silence with (appreciate this as an introvert).
  
  The establishment's vibe is goth/punk, friendly, clean, and very relaxed. Bonus star for using vegan-friendly ink!
  
  I'm super happy with the service, price, and how the tattoo turned out.
