We have stayed here twice in 3 weeks. First stay was great room was in the main "hotel" area behind Settlers House only thing there only the shower worked and I really wanted a bath that night but the room was nice bathroom fine would have given it a 4 star rating. Booked again and paid more for the spa suit . Well big mistake first of all arriving in the dark took us 2 goes to actually find the driveway then having a big 4x4 was interesting negotiating getting it down the driveway very very narrow with a metal box almost hitting the wing mirror got parked up and was told our room is the one with no name the parking area was very dark and yes in a puddle I went. Find our key open the door and spa suit is not what we saw spa bath in tiny bedroom is what we got. Room is tiled so being winter it's freezing can't swing a cat in here it's really small no place to put bags or hang up clothes (no cupboard) just a huge bath. Aircon/heater very noisy so very disrupted sleep. Thought we were getting a bigger spa suit with kitchen so very disappointed. After all this if I came to York again I would stay here but only in the main hotel bit like our first visit. The room with no name I do not recommend.

THE NOSH AND NOD
This place is not what was on the Internet.!!!!!
After driving for 4days we arrived to our room The Ivy roomat 1.30am to find. .
Stained towels
Stained sheets
Ripped blankets
Dirty cooking pots n pans
Kettle was rusted and corroded
Wall next to our bed was dirty
Air con dripping water next to our bed and on the bed side table wall and floor
Photo's on there site are not what you see "TRICK PHOTOGRAPHY" at its best.
The rooms were all full and there was no STAFF or OWNER on site!!
I messaged the owner Kerry at 11.52am after only staying in the Ivy room for 8hrs and explained what was wrong and that my family and i were not happy. Her reply at 12.41pm was "I'LL BE THERE SHORTLY". Well 3 hrs later Kerry the owner turns up but unfortunately we had left to find other accommodation as it was not fit to stay there my kids were upset i was in tears as when she finally did ring us back at 2.51pm stating she was at our room, but my family and I had all ready found and paid for other accommodation. Kerry told us that we were NOT getting any of our money back my partner said what not even for 2 nights kerrys reply was READ THE FINE PRINT! . We booked for 4 nights and only stayed there for 8 hrs. We didn't want all our money back we only wanted to be refunded for 2 nights but it was still NO! !!!
NOW THIS MATTER HAS BEEN TAKEN FURTHER AND WILL BE REPORTED TO THE SHIRE..

This is worth the drive the town is beautiful nosh and nod is on the main strip of York and the rooms are basic but clean and comfy defiantly coming back
