Don't go near the place. They tell you one thing and do another. Not to be trusted. I wanted to put 'no star' but the computer would not let me
Outstanding service! The sales team there are polite and know their stuff. Good range of riding wear too.
Staff are very helpful and friendly. Called up a few times asking about availability of various parts for a rebuild, and despite not buying anything 4/5 times they were always willing to help me out. In person, the guys I talked to were just as helpful as they were on the phone.
5/5 would recommend
My brother and I recently got our learners bike licenses and were looking to buy two new 300cc bikes to learn on.
We walked into Sydney City Motorcycles Kogarah and walked around for a while looking at bikes. Not one of the sale staff acknowledged our presence nor did they approach us or even signal they would be with us shortly, nothing.
Pretty disappointing as we had the intention to leave a deposit on both our bikes, but I'd rather take my money elsewhere where it is appreciated.
I bought my first motorcycle, bought many parts and accessories, clothing, and other items, and had my motorcycle serviced here many times. No store is perfect, but I have had excellent service with honest communication over three years of interacting with Sydney City Motorcycles.
Recently, I carelessly bought (an expensive) wrong item. The staff at the store went out of their way to look after me and the outcome was better than I had expected.
I will definitely shop here again - 5 stars.
I am removing the content of my review, due to my experience with your Lane Cove Branch.
In hindsight I am sorry to write such a harsh review, which probably wasn't all that constructive.
As a note, I am surprised to see your reply.
You are running a business. Your sales people are your front line, and if they cannot handle what must be one of the most common objections in their role (lower price offered than possible), then they are not doing their jobs properly, and are in need of being trained.
The bike that I bought from your Lane Cove branch (the same bike as you know) was sold to me by an enthused young 22 year old, with little to no experience at the shop, or in sales. Yet, I had the same objections and he handled them brilliantly. There wasn't any jumped up sales talk, no impossibilities, no refusals. Only calm negotiations, options, and solid advice. Blake is an asset to that business, who obviously has a natural ability to calmly lead prospective buyers through a process that aims to find a solution.
It is not the buyers fault for offering something that isn't possible. Your business must get ridiculous offers on a daily basis. It doesn't matter how low the offer is, if someone is ringing up about a bike, they have some intent to buy it.
I must be living proof of that.
(Next time you get a silly offer on the phone, invite the person down to the shop. Seems obvious no?)
Good luck.
Had a puncture this morning and called the workshop at 7:30am way before their opening time (I'm not an existing customer here). Tony was extremely helpful and advised me to bring the bike straight in.
Upon arrival, they took the bike straight in and begun working on it even though they were technically closed, knowing I had to get to work. I had the pleasure of watching the mechanic work who took great care and resolved the puncture very quickly. Tony was made the administrative process easy and quick. I'll definitely be coming back here to get my bike serviced in the near future!! Thanks so much for your help!!
Bought a Kawasaki Ninja SE 2016 from here. Good stuff.
AVOIDI spend 1.5 hours in sydney traffic to make it before they close. It's supposed to be 7pm on a Thursday night. (I originally thought it was 7.30 but makes no difference) I arrive at their Kogara dealership at 6.40pm. Their gate closed, all lights off in their showroom. I call them from the side of the road. A bloke picks up the phone and says they are closed. He confirms 7pm. I said we still got time. He confims with his off-sider and they both agree to tell me to come back on the weekend.. I said are you serious. I just spent 1.5 hours in traffic and you close early? He laughed a bit and said sorry. while still laughing a little.. I've bought 2 brand new motorbikes from here at this dealership in the past.. was planning on trading in for a 3rd bike soon bought ALOT of accessories from here in the past.. will be getting my accessories from MCAS in Caringbah and Will be looking at bikes at Bikebiz from now onPut the Ventura Rack parts back on your shelves that you had on hold for me was going to order a clutch rebuild kit, I'm taking my business to the 2 above mentioned places from now on.
Edit: just been reading other reviews.. glad I never took either of my bikes to your for servicing, and I'm not the only one that has suffered crap treatment as closing time approaches. And other customers where also laughed at. Absolute disgusting service. AVOID.
Great service, advice and guidance when buying making a purchase. Ted is your man to see. Passionate biker, knows his stuff and easy to talk to. Thanks team. Could
Not be happier!
1 star because 0 star is not an option on google.
I was really really disappointed 😞 when I try to explain what was wrong with my bike and the guy head of the service department told me I've got so much to do your brake pads are fine!!!!
Seriously??? Is that how you treat your customers who is willing to pay even more and they try to look after their bikes.
Basically ignore this place's service department.
Amazing customer service, great prices and amazing patience for someone who has no idea about motorbikes. Special thanks to Ted and Shawn for teaching me everything I know and being extremely friendly. Will definitely be returning when I need a bigger bike.
