We have had Summit Homes Group built and completed a house before the end of October 2016.
The house has water pipe above the ceiling in the bathroom bursted, which caused the whole ceiling, exhausted fan and light fittings totally collapsed on 26 August 2022. It was very dangerous that can hurt people living there.
Noted news yesterday that the problem piping was similar to Iplex Polybutylene pipings that BGC also used. I had contacted the maintenance manager of Summit Homes Group during August 2022 after the pipe busted out and ceiling collapsed. The manager told me to have my insurance company to fix the problems. The company ignored my concerns. So disappointed and upset. And I still worried about it.
We are currently building a home with Summit and to date have no complaints. Anna, our client administrator was a pleasure to deal with. Anna made them whole process from pre start selections to sorting bank approvals an absolute breeze. Her prompt responses to communications (even whilst on leave) go to prove her level of commitment to clients. I would recommend Summit without hesitation.
We have just signed a contract with Summit Homes and were most impressed by their design expertise and competitive prices.
Quentin Lau’s professionalism and extensive knowledge of the construction industry really helped us with the design & development of our triplex block.
We would not hesitate to recommend Summit for any sized project.
We found Summit to be responsive to most requests, some were considered too late in the build to change, fair enough, changing a tap before installation I thought could have been accomplished. Small gripe
Our building supervisor, Kane, did his utmost to help us get into our house as quickly as possible, turned up on site when we arranged and even spotted little things we missed on the walk through.
After completion service has been good, just getting things remedied can take a little while, but that's the industry at present..
All in all I got my home in a reasonable timeframe, and to a very good quality.
We currently live next-door to a Summit build worksite and our experience with Summit from planning to build phase has been nothing short of terrible.
From being harassed to sign off our approval on plans, to lack of notification of works affecting our property, to property damage and complete disregard for conditions set on their Building Permit, Summit have shown they are not willing to engage nor consult with neighbouring properties.
Our property has been damaged, fences removed without notice, and required consents not sought. It's been incredibly stressful to try and deal with Summit. They have even left the entire west side of our house and yard unsecured and open to street access! We have been left with no option other than to engage the Building Regulator.
I would be very wary in engaging and dealing with this business.
