Sue (Burns) Venderley has been cooking homestyle, quality food for 40 years. A Bribie local since 1992, Sue has built up a loyal following whilst cooking in the kitchens of Bribie's Bowls Clubs; and decided to bring her skills and knowledge with soul food, seafood, and American cuisine to her very own takeaway restaurant.
Sue's daughters, Kirrilee and Nikki, have worked by her side in all of her hospitality ventures; and brought their excellence with cooking (Kirrilee) and quality customer service (Nikki), to ensure that Sue's Cafe and Takeaway upholds its reputation as the best takeaway on the Island.
We are on target!! 500 burgers sold over 6 business days! A big thank you to all who have contributed to our goal so far โค Sue's Bar and Grill have jumped on board and are donating 10% from each steak sold to the Drought Angels. Thanks all for help out a great cause!
A big thank you to everyone who has come in to support our burger drive for the farmers.
Our tally for burgers as of right now has reached 232...
Our donation tin is getting a work out, alot of generous customers putting notes and coins into the tin. The best way I can describe it is an emotional journey, filling our shop with good feel vibes.
...Again a big thank you to all who have shared our post and for those who have supported the farmers.
From all the team at Sue's.
See MoreThe drought is getting pretty serious. Our business relies on our farmers to supply us with quality ingredients, so the drought will potentially affect us at some stage.
That's why we have decided to help in a way that we can. We are only a small business and we want to help regardless...
So we are going to donate $1 from every burger we sell over the month of August. We have decided to donate all the raised funds to Drought Angels who are based in Chinchilla, and I believe... that they will responsibly distribute the funds to alot of Queensland farmers.
We sell up to 500 burgers a week, so there is a real possibility that we could raise $2000 over this month. There will also be a donation tin on our counter, and if any other businesses would like to get involved I can arrange more donation tins for your store.
Thanks again Bribie for the support, let's support our farmers together.
Dan
