This school makes you feel like a robot, they expect 3 hours of study each night PLUS assignments, everything is so restrictive. Students are exhausted and a lot of students struggle to juggle their workload, a job and a social life.

Mackillop is known as a safe and welcoming school.
This is not true, with teachers afraid to discipline the students, xenophobic, racist and homphobic students everywhere. I wouldn't call that safe and/or welcoming.

Teachers are marketed as kind and happy to help. This is also not true, with the strict and unapproachable teachers employed, especially within the maths faculty. There are a handful of teachers present which I personally comfortable approaching and asking for help.

The friendships I have made here make the school somewhat enjoyable to attend. The principle, Michael Lee. Is absolutely phenomenal.

In conclusion, Mackillop's reputation is deceiving. The teachers are mean and unapproachable, the stress of the small time allotted for assignments make life more annoying than required and it isn't really as safe and welcoming as marketed.

in my first year it was kind of a tough time for me since i was all alone in this big big school. its a pretty good school at times, but there are a few flaws. like in my first year, the teachers handed out a against gay marriage folder to all the kids. they always say to us "be yourself, don't let others bring you down" but imagine all the kids who like the same sex, how are they supposed to be themselves when the teachers think gay marriage is bad?

a large majority of the teachers are almost like the teachers in the 50's, except without the cane.

the education is still pretty good i learnt a lot through the years.

Its a pretty Edgy school where people ride their 2001 Razer Fold up scooters everywhere. That was sarcasm, actually the school is amazing I suppose. The amount of care you receive from the Teachers is fantastic. They are very supportive people that are always willing to help. The educational facilities suit all needs and are currently receiving renovations.

The school is guided by a wonderful principal Mr Michael Lee, he is an amazing person who is loved by the hole community. His role and involvement with the schools teachers helps guide a better teaching environment for all.
