It is disappointing that a cafe with an outdoor dining area doesn't allow dogs to be present. Drove here from Seaford specifically to eat here to find that. Hence didn't even make it in the door.
Last visit 2 years ago, food and service have gone backwards since. Coffee still good.
Arrived at 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon and were told the kitchen was closed and it was fried food only. Ordered deep fried we didn’t particularly want. People after us were allowed to order other items. Bad communication and service here.
Food was tasty and came to our table in good time. Service was interesting - low on menu knowledge, personality and a genuine interest in good customer service.
Very unhappy with the fact that one of the staff members treated me as if I was the idiot! It’s quite frustrating!!!!!! Food was average but this womens manners and common sense when dealing with people was appalling :(
Foods ok, staff could do with a happy pill. Could be so much better
Good food/service plus a great location and Westernport Bay outlook.
Sitting inside the Somers' cafe, close to the wood fire on a chilly winter's day, supping on a good brewed coffee or pot of tea, the hardest choice becomes what to eat!
One of the delicious muffins, cakes or slices, or order something yummy from the varied menu.
After your cafe session, walk across to the Foreshore Reserve and amble east or west along the tracks soakng up the beauty, or head down the stairs to the expansive beach.
Amazing quality of food. Service with a smile and reasonable cost. What else could you ask for?
Was down there today .food ok services good .but public holiday surcharge what a load of crook .
Good place to eat. Could benefit from a little more variety
The local - has some good and some off days. Nice place to go for a bite to eat and has good food and coffee. Service is sometimes a bit sleepy. Seems to have changed hands/management many times but always worth a stop in. Recently they've removed the "general store" part for more dining space. More foodie (read: commercial) places down the road in Balnarring/Merricks if you want a longer trip.
Walked in and was firstly put off by the signs every where take away only for the drinks and ice creams.
We had a very friendly lady take our order helped us with the door due to having a stroller on way in.
We received our coffee/hot chocolate from a different very sour young girl who didn't help with door. They had a 15% surcharge I totally get it but coffee was weak and dreadful not with $5.20 for a large take way. Hot chocolate not worth $5.20 either.
Would have loved to have seen some more of the beautiful local produce in the store.
This place is very disappointing only good thing was they lovely lady greeting at the door.
We had the veggie burger and shared a side of chips. The burger was delicious, no doubt due to the home-made patty, and the chips hot and crispy. Our friend ordered the fish, and was also quite pleased.
We waited at the bench on the stools provided.
Where we had issue was with the service from the owner. We ordered takeaway and were treated quite poorly. We made only two fairly reasonable requests (for just one takeaway cutlery and a few napkins), to which the owner mumbled to staff "I can't deal with them," and walked off shaking his head. We were nice to all the staff and the owner, so not sure what we did to deserve such treatment. The staff were able to write easily service or request. Thank you.
Due to the nature of our treatment, and despite the good food, we won't be going back.
