Description

Welcome to Pineapples and Zucchinis!
We are a part of studio Dre that is centred around developing gross motor skills in young children, from the age of 1-10. We specialise in Breaking Dance and Ninjabilities classes.

Many people ask me where did the name come from? It is an odd choice I guess! It started when I was teaching Kindy Gym classes at Challenge Stadium (now HBF stadium). Those who know me know that I like to make jokes all the time and I had started calling the students 'Pineapples and Zucchinis' for a bit of fun! Well it stuck! All of my students started associating me with that and as some of them are now becoming young adults they still remember it!

More about Studio Dre
Studio Dre is a venue for dedicated people learning awesome new moves. We offer a supportive and friendly environment so you can test your best!

We started with a bit of breaking dance, threw in some ninjabilities and now we are looking at expanding into parkour, tricking and more!

We offer dance and fitness classes from babies to adults, private and semi-private tuition and we would be a great host for your next party. We are also interested in hiring out our digs if you have a class you would like to teach – get in touch!

About Andre
André Dias da Silva is the man behind Studio Dre. A qualified physical education teacher, former BBoy (break dancer) and a father of 2, Andre hails from the far away land of Brasil.

“I believe that learning is most successful when it is fun! Teaching gross motor skills from a young age is very important for development not only physical but also mentally, it keeps kid’s minds active and improves problem-solving skills. Not to mention the importance of social interactions that happen when kids are having fun together learning awesome new moves!”

In 2004 Andre completed a Bachelor degree of Physical Education, majoring in gymnastics. Since working in the field Andre has had vast experience teaching gymnastics and breaking dance, mentoring with kids and adults alike.

Rest assured any coaches or assistants working at Studio Dre hold current certificates in both Senior First Aid and Resuscitation. Occasional accidents are unavoidable when learning tricky moves however we always practice and teach in the safest way possible.
