Penola & District Community Bank Branch

The Penola & District Community Bank Project is aiming to get a branch up and running in Penola early in the new financial year, just as soon as we can raise enough capital to satisfy the Bendigo Bank franchise requirements.

The Community Bank will operate as a branch of the Bendigo Bank, offering all the regular banking facilities for individuals, businesses, farms, wineries, agribusinesses and more. BUT, a portion of profits derived from that business will return to the local community through grants issued by the local board.

The local steering committee has put in a huge amount of time and effort to guide this project toward fruition, and we're nearly there. Check out our latest newsletter for an update!

Coonawarra, Comaum, Maaoupe, Monbulla, Kalangadoo, Nangwarrry, Penola and all bits in between (and beyond!) have pledged great support for this project. Right now we're asking people to transfer business to the bank so we can be issued with a franchise and open the doors!
