Couldn’t have said it better @jaimefazackerley 🙌🏽 ・・・ There’s never been a more pressing time in our history as humans. The latest study to come out of the UN states that we have 12 years for global warming to be kept to a maximum of 1.5C. Anything over that will significantly worsen the risks of drought, floods, extreme heat and poverty for hundreds of millions of people. ~ Who’s responsible for reducing our impact? Animal agriculture is one of the leading causes of climate ...change. It’s the leading cause of species extinction, habitat loss, ocean dead zones and deforestation.91% of deforestation in the amazon is due to animal agriculture and as we know trees absorb Co2 and expel oxygen which helps to regulate the climate. ~ 56 billion land animals are being bred and killed every year for consumption. The grain we feed to animals alone could feed an estimated 3.5 billion people. Our demand for animal products is what drives the animal agriculture industry. Without our money they could not afford to exploit animals and the environment. That gives us tremendous power as individuals to use our money as a vote for the industries we want to see in the future. ~ Do we want to support more ethical and sustainable plant based companies? Or do we want to support objectively the most harmful and cruel industry on the planet that is destroying our environment and exploiting innocent animals. ~ The world health organisation states that a whole food plant based diet is suitable for all stages of life which means consuming animals and their secretions is no longer necessary. If it’s no longer necessary then isn’t it inherently cruel to kill animals for our pleasure? Are you are against animal cruelty? It’s time to align our values and morals with our actions and do what we can as individuals to reduce our impact on the environment, our health, animals and this planet we all call home. ~ Visit vegan22.com to try a free 22 vegan challenge with full support and guidance. ~ Resources: ipcc.ch/report/sr15/ cowspiracy.com/facts
