What's there not to love about desserts and cakes! Nikos was my wedding cake provider and I still have a slice of it in the freezer! They make beautiful greek desserts (Baklava!!!) and alright nice to have a cup of coffee with any sweets when I'm down in Oakleigh

I was very excited to have ordered a chocolate hazelnut flavoured cake from Nikos for my 21st birthday, to then be disappointed with only a chocolate cake instead. The matter was not dealt with professionally and appropriately by Denise who instead of being empathic and acknowledging their mishap, she placed blame on me – a loyal customer who has twice ordered chocolate hazelnut cakes for big events, and kept reiterating that it was my mistake and misunderstanding of their cake flavour menu on their website.
Just to inform other potential customers, contrary to what their website states, Denise explicitly stated that Nikos only makes three flavoured cakes; chocolate, vanilla and red velvet. All other flavours listed on their website are not flavours of cake but instead just the fudge filled ganache and even then, in my case, there was absolutely no distinct hazelnut flavouring or pieces.
Since this encounter, I’ll be sure to not purchase from or recommend Nikos Cakes.response / report this review -

These guys know their cakes. That have a really wonderful selection and everything is amazing! The baklava is awesome here. Service is usually good, though the counter girls can sometimes be a little slow to serve you. Their opening times are long and great for an afternoon coffee.

Nikos seem to be always busy but the staff stay friendly and very accommodating. there's a huge range of cakes which go well with their coffee.

If you want the best New York Cheese Cake you have ever eaten, then look no further than Nikos in Oakleigh! It is not cheap, but it is worth every single cent, you have to savour each monthful while staring at the beautifully presented cake case wondering what on earth you are going to try on your next visit!

Today, Tuesday 1 August 2017, (and happy birthday to all the horses today!!), was the commencement of a new Victorian Governmet "NO SMOKING" law, where food is served. Very good work with NIKOS Cafe, as they have set aside 2 areas for smoking outside. The first is on Eaton mall near the corner of Portman Street, which is enclosed within a clear vinyl pergola type roller blind, ceiling to floor, and the second area is a small open area on Portman Street footpath. Both these 2 areas are for smoking, coffee and drinks ONLY. I was told by staff that they could not serve cakes and /or biscuits???? I might check that, I thought it was only for 'food'. I cannot see where that is a food! Good set up and had a top soy cappuccino today, inside!

Amazing cakes, biscuits and desserts. My wedding cake was from here and it was the best cake I've ever eaten (and I'm picky when it comes to cake). However we did have some issues with the timing of the delivery. It was 2 hours late.

Denise, part owner & wedding cake specialistHOW DARE YOU try and give me a wedding cake with a noticeable hole in the icing & with 2 very crooked gold leaves.
It was not ok for us to "turn the cake around for people not to notice"..amongst other inappropriate comments!!

Wedding cake- fantastic! We ordered our wedding cake from Nikos cakes about a year before our big day, they were helpful and gave great advice, I didn't need to stress about anything. On the day the cake arrived as planned and was perfect. Everyone enjoyed the taste of the cake and commented on how lovely it tasted and it was 'the best tasting wedding cake they had ever had'. Thanks again Nikos cakes for seamless service/delivery.

Great food, quick service (we ordered simple food, anyways was brought quick). Only bad thing is staff a bit standoffish, not rude, just not the friendliest.
