Description

October 14th & 15th 2017 will bring the running of the Ted Hurley classic. Now apart of the King of the Murray series. This race will take place in two rivers starting in the Darling River at Wentworth passing though the Murray Darling Junction and up the Murray River to Mildura with Apex Park being the turnaround point.
Mildura Ski Club, Wentworth Shire Council and the events Major Sponsor the Coomealla CLub welcome Competitors to one of the most unique river races on the Ski Racing calendar the Ted Hurley Classic at Wentworth.
This unique event begins in the Darling River at Wentworth and travels through the Murray darling Junction which is possibly the best viewing point in Australia and up what is probably the quickest section of the Murray River to Apex Park at Mildura. Lots of long sweeping turns, fast straights and a first for the Vic River Races a Bridge!
There is a stack of entertainment including bands, food vendors and the corporate area planned for the Junction on Saturday and Sunday so if you aren't racing make sure you get to the Junction to catch all the action.
Friday is the beginning of the event with the Walkers IGA show and shine held at the Coomealla club from 5pm onwards.

The following notes are for members interested in entering the Ted Hurley Memorial Classic at Wentworth. Full Briefing notes will be provided in your race packs.

Format
The Expert event runs over two days. The race is a two way race on both Saturday and Sunday approximately 52 Km’s each way. Saturday morning all expert teams race 1 Up from Wentworth to Apex Park Mildura with one of the team’s skiers and return from Apex Park to Wentworth with the teams other skier. Teams will run in the same seeded order up and back. There is trophy for the fastest skiers of the day.
The combined times of these two 1 up runs qualifies teams for the seeded timed order for Sundays 2 up Event. Race numbers for Sunday will be issued at bretho on Sunday Morning. Sundays event is a 2 up event over the same course with the same team from Wentworth to Apex park and return. Sunday’s teams will be reseeded at the turn around. Please consider when doing your expert entry that this entry fee is for the two days of racing.
Saturday afternoon Social, Veterans and Tadpoles runs over a short course of approximately 25 Km’s from Coomealla to Wentworth.
