I recently had my left knee replaced by Mr Hau.
From the start Mr Hau was focused on my health and well being.
From the beginning to the end Mr Hau explained the process to having my knee replaced.
The first 2 weeks after surgery is the toughest
At mid week 3 after surgery I am now on one crutch and moving around quite freely.
I have home physiotherapist coming once a week.
Regular exercises and moving about is a must to a speedy recovery.

From our first appointment I found Mr Hau to be professional and empathetic.
After listening carefully to me he outlined what I could expect with my surgery, time frames, recovery process etc.
On surgery day, his presence was calm and reassuring. I believe his skill as a surgeon contributed to my amazing recovery. 6 days post surgery I was walking 600 metres and off crutches around the house. Ten days post op I was working 1.5 kms a day and no crutches at all. By week 7 my bend was 120 and I was walking 4-7 kms 2-3 times a week and back at work, taking only the occasional Panadol Osteo.
14 weeks on I am easily covering 10 kms, often forget that my knee is recovering from what is quite major surgery. I can kneel some days for brief periods although that does feel a bit weird.
Very different to when my first knee was replaced in the UK 6 years ago. As a a result of that I was terrified, initially, at the thought of going through all that again.
Mr Hau makes you feel like you are the only patient he is seeing, His consults are never rushed, he is cheerful, positive and so encouraging.
I am very happy with my new knee, thanks to Mr Hau I have had a brilliant, trouble free recovery.

I would like to share my experience with Mr. Raphael Hau. Mr. Hau is an excellent surgeon in every aspect, from initial appointment to my surgery and after surgery. His bedside manner is of a caring nature and easy to talk to. My surgery was a breeze I had a Total Knee Replacement and on wakening I had no pain and continue to have no pain. Mr. Hau has different methods to other surgeons and this makes him top of his profession. I have no hesitation at all in recommending him for your surgery, You will be getting the best!!!!

Mr. Raphael Hau is a most excellent Surgeon! He has performed two operations on me and both outcomes were fantastic. He is personable and makes you feel you are the only patient he has got. If you have the pleasure of being his patient, the care and brilliant surgery will be the best there is!
