We were there on a busy weekend and there was a bit of a wait until someone left for us to find a table for our group of seven. The staff was great. As soon as a table was available they wiped it down, so there was no extra waiting time at all. The food was wonderful and big portions. The atmosphere was great and the staff was friendly, making sure all our food was served quickly and hot from the kitchen. If we lived close by this would definitely be a place we'd frequent.

Dessert was slow to come out (it was a busy saturday night) - but when it did divine! 👌 I like the new open sectioned off area. Good for groups who want a quieter area, without being entirely taken away from the music and atmosphere. I love Metro.

"A passion for tradition", and yet they like to stray quite far from the traditional conservative ideals and such.
The watering hole of the city's hipsters and hip community. Being situated in where it is, the middle of town, between a cluster of other stores, the building itself is quite cramped, in comparison to other cafe's at least. Metro represents a modern, hip styling, (like a cluster of the same painting on the wall for example, each with a different colour.) The atmosphere is very modern.
High ceilings, and the keen eye would've noticed a messy paint job on one of the pillars high up there.
Sit at a table as you enjoy your coffee and soon, you'll see the local wildlife come in. Lovers of modern art, local music, tight pants and fedoras. Or maybe you'd prefer a booth? There's those there too. Or you can always sit outside and admire the pleasant, serene view of the passing traffic, maybe a glance of the cave gardens across the street.
The selection of coffee is ample with a sufficient selection of cafe styled treats, as you would expect it to have. But there's moreWhat if you don't feel like a coffee? There's always a bar too.
I didn't purchase anything from the bar, because like any sane person, i went to the cafe for coffee, which i thought was reasonably priced for what i ordered. And i thought nothing wrong of what i ordered, i was quite happy.
No, i didn't have to wait long, but i guess that would all depend on what you're ordering, when you're ordering and how polite you're ordering. My order didn't take long at all.
As much as i personally loathe its style and atmosphere, it does succeed in its field, being a cafe; there's a reason why it's got hundreds of positive reviews. The owner's "passion for tradition" has gone, noticeably, but if you're into a modern, hip and social vibe, Metro would definitely be a place to check out.response / report this review -

Great atmosphere. Good selection of breakfast, coffees, cakes, pastries etc. Generous portions. Really amazing owner who serves patrons herself and really tuned in - she took time to help my teenage daughter choose

Went there for lunch and the place was packed!!! The reason for that were the awesome sandwiches. I had the Cuban delicious!!! On the other hand service can be slow because of the popularity but the food is worth the wait.
