Would rate 0 if I could - went with a large group of family, I am a wog so know nice food when I get it - been there 2 times previously with husband and food was ok, good but not great - 3 rd time with family and friends from overseas and the Chef (Australian) wouldn't cook what I ordered as I asked for extra sauce and to add mushrooms and olives as the vegetarian ravioli dish didn't come with anythnig but Ravioli - this proved too difficult for the chef so I didn't pay for my meal - but the waitress (chefs wife) wanted to argue the point at the register.so just shows their maturity level and how unprofessional they really are. Pathetic. We have never been back since and they would have had so mucuh biz from us and our large family and friends and business associates - their loss and besides - I cook much better italian food at home myself. Would be nice to go out and get great italian food in Cairns without the attitude and find good food!

This is our favourite place to eat. Ask any local, it's the place to be. John and his staff strive to make you feel special and as one of the longest standing restaurants around town it is vwry hard to beat

This place is simply amazing. Staff were friendly and quickly dealt with food mix-up without any fuss. The food was fantastic, I had the large Spaghetti Al Pesto Genovese, the portion was perfect, the taste exquisite and pasta cooked to perfection. There aren't enough stars for this little gem.
My group had excellent feedback from their meals also. This place is a must for anyone who is looking for an amazing feed at astonishing price. I've paid more for a lot less. This place raises the bar for any restaurant I'll be eating at in future.response / report this review -

Great service and food. We ordered Grigliata Di Mare (grilled seafood plate with salad) and Ravioli Ai Funghi. Both meals were very flavoursome and the portion size didn't compensate quality over quantity. Would recommend.

Ridiculous. Paid $24 for a large ravioli that didn't even fill half a takeaway container. Was told this is normal. No apology. Food was delicious but unless you want to pay for a main meal and receive an appetiser look somewhere else.

Nothing is too difficult for this fine establishment! They always provide exceptional customer service and meals when I frequent the restaurant. I love it here and can't find a better place to enjoy Italian cuisine in North Queensland!

Wife and I really truely blown away. Not many places in Cairns where you are just wowed! On par with top restaurants in Perth and Sydney. Great prices, generous portions, 5 star service and relaxed Italian atmosphere. Thanks guys !

Delicious food, attentive staff, nice place. Even with a partly power failure in the whole block they managed to continue operations (with extra candles and phone flashlights). The power was restored just in time to enjoy the great espresso. Definitely a place to return!
