Went into hydro centre for a few bits and Bob's for the garden and was amazed with the super friendly staff and wide rang of products, definitely recommended 10/10

I called for an update on an order today, and the guy I spoke to came across as rude (pretty much fobbing me off).

The email customers get when shopping online says that if products can’t be dispatched within 8 working hours, customers will usually be notified via email. Although COVID-19 and the recent boom in houseplants has probably affected the ability to promptly fulfill orders, delays and a lack of clarity are of course annoying for customers, and this is made worse by impolite staff who aren’t interested in what I would imagine is the quick, uncomplicated task of finding out where an order is. The least that could have been done was for the employee to take my number and get the person who deals with online orders to call back with an update—not just take my order number down and continue to leave me with no clue as to where the order is. I’d completely understand his attitude if I’d called up angrily and rudely and demanded a to-the-minute GPS location of something, or something crazy and entitled like that. I legitimately just basically asked it if had left the shop yet. Irritating, unprofessional, and also awkward as a customer to have a shop tell you that they can’t really provide information on whether the goods are or aren’t with them.

UPDATE: I was emailed by the shop a few hours later, to say they didn’t even have the products I’d bought in stock. It was frustrating to have them not contact me for a day and a half to say that when competing shops that have it together could have probably dispatched the order by now. Things go wrong from time to time, and I think we all understand that, but I'm leaving a negative review as poor business management like this wastes customers' time when we then have to repeat the entire ordering process again with an alternative shop that actually has a handle on basic aspects of retail trade such as whether they do or don't have an item. This was my first purchase with this shop and I wouldn’t repeat the experience due to the sense that there’s an uncaring, disorganised approach to stock and orders.

After all of this, I then later received an email from the shop, saying that the goods were indeed with them, having been out the back with a new shipment that had just arrived. By this time, I had already gone to a local supplier to buy half of what I'd ordered, anyway. Weird, chaotic experience.

Brilliant service. My order was on my doorstep the next day. Can't get better than that 👍

On order, clearly states authority to leave if no one is home. Receive a docket in my post box asking me to collect with no collection point stated. With the virus flying around, who wants to line up to collect parcel now. Rubbish!
