A very stunning experience with a bounty on show for passing patrons in the gardens; like ducks, birds, geese, and a very mesmerizing peacock. The old botanical gardens have seen a lot through its lifetime, and has many splendours to show. The gardens are just immaculate and are very well kept and catered for.

Gardens designed by Guilfoyle, (from Melb. RBG) in 19C. Magnificent trees, 6 listed trees, stunning. Good labelling. Well worth a visit

Old Park with many mature shade trees. Built on the side of a hill means you get great views across the park. Lake, Wildlife, Birds, Cottage Garden, Hot House. Relaxing and Quiet

Its has shadey areas when its a hot day, so lovely and cool. Seating areas to have lunch. Rotunda which sometimes you may see a live band playing in. Sometimes they have little weekend entertainment on if there is a banner displayed on the french street corner entrance.Fountain, which will be getting fixed at some stage. Kids have a play area. Has birds and peacock. A handmade pond with bridge. Wishing well. A senses garden, which your allowed to walk through. Bbq area, little open area to kick the footy. Asphalted paths, easier to push around the pram. Toilets are in a bad spot, have to walk to end of gardens to get there and they are very old. Have been told though, that the council have plans to upgrade the gardens, so eventually they will be putting in new toilets, hopefully closer to the centre of the gardens. Doing up the bird walk through aviary, as well as some other things.
Its quiet, peaceful and still walking distance from the main street shopping area.
