Worst experience at an indian Restraunt ever!
Rude staff, burnt food, overpriced!!
Food feels like reheated!!
Would not recommend to anyone!
Would'nt have even given 1 star but had no choice!
Before going to this restaurant I was of the view that Gulab Jamun (a very famous Indian Dessert) can never go wrong, but I was wrong. This place served me burnt gulab jamun! The worst ever.
And when asked the wait staff to change this, the lady without even looking at the dish said it’s supposed to be cooked that way. First of all that was really rude and second I feel sad for the lady because she never has really tried a good and not burnt gulab jamun.
Hope the restaurant read this review and make sure this thing never happens to any other customer.
Manager was very rude when we were ordering, quality was pathetic as just heated up the frozen food and served us the food, highly priced, burned food, very less quantity and Gulab Jamuns and tilkka was literally burned and chef said it was fine. I don't recommend this place to anyone.
We had lunch here yesterday. Service was a bit slow but this was at the start of the lunchtime period. It improved as the meal progressed. The food was brilliant, hot and with excellent flavors. I had a goat curry and it was to die for. My wife and daughter also enjoyed their meals as well. Great place to dine.
Usually crowded, or at least a good amount of tables are taken, (at dinner time that is). I really like the fact that they offer Indian alcoholic drinks, it really does add to the atmosphere of Gourmet India. The menu consists pretty much solely of Indian meals, truly making the place an authentic one at that. Service can be slow. No doubt that they can be quick too, but on my occasions of dining in, there's no doubt that they were slow. The meals, however authentic, just don't really seem worth the price you pay, which is more than the average cost. It's more pricier, for less food. It's a very atmospheric place, and i love it for that, but it's just not worth my money for the amount i get in a meal.
The food is always fantastic, as is the service. Nice atmosphere, have come here hundreds of times and have never had a bad meal.
Very diasappointing experience. Fish and chicken gravies had smell. Asked for fish to be taken back being unbeatable but was charged and rather rudely told "our chef says it's fine"! Didn't know chefs, if at all, opinion took presedence over customer's. Service was terrible. Asked for water at the time of placing order which did not come for ages and had to ask again when the mains were served. Repented going there and not opting for fish and chips suggested by son.
After a long road drive from Adelaide to Mt Gambier, a well prepared, hot and yummy food was something which we were longing for. Trust my words you won't find a better Indian taste than here. Being a South Asian I know how and what a good should taste like and gourmet India excelled in every way possible.
The night started with tandoori platter and mixed platter. The night got high after tasting butter chicken and Tika masala with garlic naan. Food was tasty, hot and we'll prepared.
Cons:
It was a Saturday night and I saw three families who were sent back due to space constraints. You can imagine the kind of rush and two waitress struggling with hungry customers. Yes our entree came too quick but order for delayed by an hr and a half. But the wait was totally worth it once we took our first bite of our main course.
Really good and reasonable priced restaurant, staff was really friendly
Please avoid this joint. All the reviews are written by staff or family members so dont trust the reviews.
On the trip to Mt gambier we thought to go for good food. Like all read the reviews and went to this one. Food came in 45 minutes late that too only curries. After 15 minutes cokes a bowl of rice to share among 9 ppl. After 20 mins of that nans. So when we got annoyed we confronted a waitress complaining about all this and reply we got was nothing can be done.. sorry. Wow i was gobsmacked.
Now the food quality was absolutely absolutely rubbish. Mind its not cheap restaurant. I will recommend to avoid it any cost.
Wonderful food and service. Love the goat vindaloo.
The food and service was great, the waitress and owner bent over backwards to satisfy our every need.
Loved the lamb sagg, friendly owners. Good food. Lunch time special is reasonable.
Would come again.
