I have been going to the Mt. Lawley Good Sammy since it opened. Unfortunately the current manager is the worst one that they have had. She does things like putting damaged clothes out for sale. The last manager (Tegan) was very, very good. Damaged stuff was not put out for sale. She was friendly and encouraged the workers to be friendly to the customers. It was a nice place to be a customer. The current manager is similar to a former one called Kelly. Nasty and impatient. I don't go here very often lately, but I was shocked by the prices when I did. Things like suitcases and shoes used to be fairly inexpensive, but not now. About three or four years ago I used to go in there all the time. I went there today and the kind of roughed-up suitcase that would have cost about $12.00 three years ago, they are now asking $60.00 for. I know that their main thing is hiring people with disabilities and giving them a sense of purpose and belonging, where they wouldn't otherwise find that acceptance. That is a good thing of course, but the place is also a charity. Many people are going through tough times and it seems ironic that during these times charities like Good Sammy are raising their prices. Good Sammy is not alone in that because in the Morley Salvos seems to be doing the same. Is that the modern Christian ethic? I would have formerly recommended this place, but not now. I go to op shops, but I generally avoid this one. There is also quite a tall woman who has come to work in the shop recently. She seems to always look unhappy and morose. She is not very approachable at all. It creates a bit of a nasty atmosphere. I don't find that at the Salvos in Morley. The Salvos may have become more expensive but at least there are nice people who seem to want to be there.

I just donated a whole pile of mostly new clothing to Good Sammy, I got there at 3.09pm. I came in with my items happy to contribute to a good cause, I was greeted with “sorry donations close at 3pm”. I asked if I were able to leave these items with you as I’ve specifically drove here to donate as google shows you open on a Sunday. They reluctantly and with an attitude took my donation.
I won’t be donating anything more here, this is the second time I’ve had smug service from the staff here whilst donating items and I’m done. You guys work for a charity making a change in the world, smarten up, pop a smile on your dial and take peoples donations with kindness and gratitude.

I've noticed the overall quality of this store has gone down lately. If you search you can still find some nice items, at a decent price, some of the time. However, the store doesn't seem as good as what it was a few years ago.

Another issue, and what has been disappointing lately, is that the 'gold seal' section seems to be continuously getting bigger, which leaves less quality items at an affordable price. Alot of the items in this section are overpriced, and it kind of defeats the purpose of an op shop, when a lot of the nice items are no longer affordable. On top of this, so many clothes will not get sold, and will end up in landfill. If more items were at an affordable price, more customers would be willing to buy more items. Seems that most of these items would have been in the regular section before the 'gold seal' section was expanded, but are now being overly marked up.

Mount Lawley Good Sammy turned into the worst shop out of all Good Sammy stores. The new manager is extremely rude and unfriendly! She approached me and had a go at me because I mentioned that their stock has holes and huge stains on them. The store is filled with damaged clothing! It looks like no one cares and no one checks the stock anymore. A couple of times I brought a return item and they put it back up for sale! My return was damaged! And should be removed from the store!? Also I purchased it for a regular price and they put it on gold seal and double the price! That’s shocking and a very poor effort. I never write bad reviews ever. But my experience with this store is literally horrible. How they treat customers there is absolutely inappropriate.

Have dropped off a few items and the lady there there dismissively told me 'just leave it there' and walked away. There was no 'thank you' or even just a polite smile. Strange. I probably wont be dropping anymore items there. The staff is unfriendly and rude. So disappointing.
