💙⚾️💙 TEAM OF THE WEEK ⚾️💙⚾️ ⚾️💙 LITTLE LEAGUE MACHINE PITCH DIVISION 2💙⚾️

This week the Little League Machine Pitch Division 2 team played St George at Apsley.

    ...

Things weren’t looking good to start the game as we only had eight players on our lineup, but they all stepped up and contributed in a great team effort today.

Amelia had her work cut out for her in the outfield at times when St George found the right field foul line and she really needed to stretch her arm out there today. Great effort Amelia! Harlan and Nathan enjoyed success combining for several outs between them with Harlan’s quick reactions on the mound and some great glove work by Nathan over at first. Nathan had a phenomenal game with the bat including an easy stand-up double to the outfield. Ethan had a great day with the bat, not only bringing in some other runners but scored a few times during the game as well. Lincoln enjoyed being a rock for us behind the plate today - he took a few hits in his second game as catcher, but didn’t flinch once. He also scored a couple of others on his double to centrefield. Cooper was a standout in the lineup with some sensational hitting today! Well done Cooper!! Leon was fierce, as you can see in the photos with his aggressive batting and got on base consistently. Nick provided some solid support towards the bottom of the order and while it was quiet for him in the outfield when he was fielding, he made sure St George was busy when it was their turn with some great batting.

In the end we came away with a win, but more importantly we gained more experience and we walked away with smiles on all our faces. Enjoy the break, but keep up the effort for the rest of the season team!

💙⚾️💙 TEAM OF THE WEEK ⚾️💙⚾️ ⚾️💙 LITTLE LEAGUE MINORS DIV 1 💙⚾️ This week the Little League Minors Div 1 played Chipping Norton at Apsley. At first we thought we might have to forfeit lucky for us we were able to borrow Tahlan Cavill and Tully Johnson from the Machine Pitch Div 1 team. The boys had a great game and pulled together as a team to go on and win 10 to 3. With a large part of the team coming up from machine pitch the boys are starting to settle into the new rules ...and are loving stealing home, there is nothing like a slide on the orange dirt in white pants.

I look forward to coaching these guys this season and would like to thank all of our parent helpers that make team life easy by donating their time each week.

    Regards,

    Angela Francis Coach

⚾️💙⚾️ TEAM OF THE WEEK ⚾️💙⚾️ 💙⚾️💙 SL DIV 1 WHITE 💙⚾️💙 Giants 6 Illawong 1 A good all round performance insured an impressive round 2 win. Drey starred with bat and ball, throwing 3 innings of 1 run ball and notching 7 ks as well as claiming two rbis. Giants started well with the first 6 batters all reaching base. Gus’ monster triple started the scoring with Alex and Drey adding rbi singles. Later, Drey also hit a sac fly to score Alex and Gus’ double brought Brad home for an insurance run. Brad was accurate in relief, pitching 2.2 innings for 6 ks and no runs. Gus then closed out the game, aided by some good fielding. Alex caught a runner stealing while Jaxon took a high fly and doubled off the runner to end the game. Well done to Liam and Jacob who both made useful contributions.
