Currently, Mount Stirling is a haven for bushwalkers and cross country skiers. It is used by many schools.
Mount Stirling is managed by the Mount Buller and Mount Stirling Alpine Resorts Management Board (the ARMB).
The ARMB has a plan to build a sealed road between Mount Buller and Mount Stirling through the intact subalpine forests on the north face of Corn Hill.
Why ? The stated reasons of "fire and emergency access" and "a nordic ski trail" are not credible. We believe it is more likely that the proposed road is to facilitate development of accommodation on Mount Stirling, making it a dormitory suburb of Mount Buller.
If you have questions, send them in. We have many documents, but there are many more that need to be made public. Too many secrets !
