Terrible service and worse food. It was an extreme inconvenience to the sour faced lady who informed us we should have booked a table, even though at 6pm on a Saturday the two of us were the only ones willing to buy more than a middy. Understandable when ordering a meal here consists of a piece of hastily cooked frozen birds eye cod on it's own without any salads, chips or even sauce. Would sooner shut my fingers in a car door than patronise this establishment again.

A true blue Aussie country pub! We were stuck for a charge for our little electric car, and they let us charge through their front door. What absolute troopers! Love to the Dartmoor Hotel!

After looking at the lovely tree carvings of the area my husband and I were extremely hungry , we made our way to the hotel for lunch , which was an epic fail ! , the welcome was less than Luke warm , it was like it was a major inconvenience for us to be there , as there was nowhere else in town , we proceeded to ask for a lunch menu , a flail of the arm indicated the chalk board of limited choice and not so great prices , we chose 2 chicken Burgers with the lot , and 2 drinks , the Orange juice was presented in the bottle with a straw that was too small and the Lemon lime and Bitters was made with much haste and was spilt so had to be remade much to the disgust of the female bar person !! we were also moved from the table we wanted to sit at as 3 others , who were obviously friends of the proprietors , and told to sit at the rickety dirty table near to 3 T V screens all loudly showing various sports , the food arrived on plates that were so small all the food kept falling off , plus the condiments and cutlery were delivered under the bar staff ladies arm pit so as 2 trips were avoided. When we asked for a couple of extra napkins , it was met with much disdain.
We didn't feel welcome ,country hospitality was no where to be seen !!!
we ate our food quickly and hightailed out of there. Not the best experience at all . maybe another vocation for the publican would be in order . The highlight of our experience of Dartmoor was the little old lady who gave us information on the carvings , she was lovely , so hats off to Mrs Pratt !!response / report this review -

The food was great. The publican is taciturn and really shouldn't be in the service industry. Visitors are not welcome here.
