Great chef...lovely wait staff and food.
Get one chef, add a splash of passion, then a bucket of talent and what do you get... D'Browes is the answer. One of the most underrated restaurants in Canberra, why this place isn't packed every night is beyond me!
Plusses...
- You can walk-in without booking most nights
- Food is to die for
- Fine dining at a cafe price
- Atmosphere, service A+
- BYO only... not everyone's cup of tea but I have a good cellar so like to bring my own
- Easily in the top 5 of places in Canberra for a romantic date night
Negatives...
- Coffee was pretty bad, burnt the milk and weak. But I'm not going to deduct points as this place deserves full marks
- BYO... some people wont like having to bring their own bottle
Support the little guy, you wont be disappointed :-)
The chef is fantastic the food is to die for great place for lunch @ dinner. Come and try .you won't be disappointed
Amazing food (especially the fish pie), big portions and well priced. The staff were really lovely and helpful. The chairs were a little uncomfortable as the back goes really far back but that was the only complaint. We will definitely be going there again.
Food is fantastic. The chef is awesome. Try the lamb shanks, pork cutlet and duck livers. Servings are huge and great quality. Restaurant is also BYO. Can't recommend it enough. Would eat there once a week if my waistline could afford it!
Great menu and great value
My wife and I eat here every couple of weeks. We keep coming back for the good range of inexpensive good hearty food, the friendly staff and the spic and span surroundings. It's a bonus for us that it's BYO because that means we can take good wine we don't have to pay through the nose for.
Utter trash. Disgusting food and rude staff.
Better places to spend money.
