Great facility with the Telethon Community charity being supported. Staffed by volunteers and a good range of refreshments available.

Love Telethon cinemas, great location, service and prices. Even better knowing all the helpers are volunteers, and profits go to WA kids charities!

"We Loved This Fun Outdoor Venue" What a great idea. We had a good time and worth every cent spent here at this venue - you won't be disappointed! Had a great time relaxing with friends under the stars. Bring a jumper if there is a breeze around! by Jenny & Andrew

Aww i love this. Been twice now and love packing a mini picnic under the stars. Bean bag lounge hire for $6 but definitely pack a pillow for extra neck support. It can get a little chill so take a light blanket just incase 😊❤

4/5 - The Burswood outdoor community cinema was a fantastic experience. It's a non profit charity which is a great idea. We went on the Valentine's Day showing of La la Land. Because of Valentine's Day, the ticket prices were the normal weekend prices of $14 per adult ticket rather than the (so I've been told) usual cheaper Tuesday rate tickets. Even so, I would have expected an even bigger hike in price for Valentine's Day and thought the ticket prices were actually very reasonable if not on the slightly cheaper side for the day.

For seating, you have the option of hiring a deck chair ($3 + a deposit) or a large bean bag ($6). You can also buy a rug or bring your own chair/rug/bean bag at no extra charge.

You can bring your own food and drinks with you (but not alcoholic), there is a reasonable price bar on site (330ml bottle of cider $6). They also had Domino's pizza that you could order, among other food - we brought our own so not sure how good the food was, the price or how the ordering system worked.

The actual film screen was slightly on the small side if you were sitting a bit further back like we were (still very good indoor cinema quality though). I personally would have liked the sound turned up slightly as we were a bit further to the back, but they probably have some sort of sound limitations to adhere to or it might have been too loud for people closer the the front.

For a musical film like La la Land, or indeed any immersive film for that matter, it would have been a better experience if they had speakers all around (even if not setup in a surround sound type configuration) so that the sound wasn't just coming, quietly, from the front.

For me the sound issue is enough to warrant only 4 out of 5 stars for the whole experience. I would still fully recommend going but If they improve the sound then this is a very solid 5/5 venue that could compete with any indoor cinema experience. If local again I would definitely return more than once!

Great night out under the stars watching a flick. Just remember to bring a sleeping bag or thick blanket as the proximity to the river means it gets very cold once sun sets.
