What can I say? The guys that bought this pub a few years ago are awesome. The opened up for a fixed price buffet Christmas Lunch in 2016 with all the trimmings. Everyone had an awesome time and the food was fantastic.

Country pubs seem to operate at different times to the pubs that I am used to in the city. This is a large pub that I have driven past many times on my trips to Melbourne and I was determined to stop off here and have a drink. However, when I arrived at Kaniva I discovered that it was closed (and this was about 2:00 pm). The next time I was driving through I managed to get inside. The owner said he wasn't open but was willing to serve me a beer. However, I couldn't find a corner to read my book because he started talking to me and didn't stop talking until I had finished my beer and left (not that this was a bad thing, but I suspect that it was because I was the only person in the pub and he was in a talkative mood, or simply that is what happens with country pubs).
