Boonchu Thai first opened in 1980 in a small restaurant in Victoria parade Manly. We moved to Newport Beach in 1988 and have been here since, still open each night and three lunches per week. Boonchu was the first Thai restaurant to open on the northern beaches and has continued for over 24 years.

Boonchu Thai restaurant has been considered one of Sydney’s better Thai restaurants for many years and was included in Australia’s Millennium Top Ten Thai restaurants. (chosen from over 700 Thai restaurants around Australia). Over the years we have received other awards from Life Style Food, various food sections in the newspapers and restaurant review books, featured on TV programs.

We are still the same owners since starting the restaurant, Barry, Dang and Siri.
