  This place is unreal! Best pub grub around.
  Especially the $10 schnitty. The live music was awesome, had a really good band on. Would definitely recommend this place and come back next time I'm in Cessnock. The staff were really friendly too.

  The kids love the play area, but the food isn't that good. The Rump for $10 is crappie. I would pay more to get more quality. Or get a new chef.

  This place is great value we stayed over the long weekend at a great price. Rooms were big. heaters worked and sheets and towels were clean. Be aware the building is old and tired but clean. We drank in the bar with a nice warm fire going and had the best 10 dollar steak anywhere we have been. All staff were friendly professional and welcoming.

  Garlic bread came out burnt, followed by two of the four main meals purchased, with a 10 minute wait for the other two meals. Snitzel was ok but nothing to write home about, crumb was very thick and meat dry. $10 snitzel board was on display but when we ordered we were told that wasn't an option on weekends-misleading. To top it off we noticed a couple of roaches crawling on the dining table right after we finished our meal. Also the tomato sauce tasted like vinegar had been mixed in with it and the consistency was very strange. Definitely not returning to eat here anytime soon.

  Bellbird restaurant review ~ 4/5 stars.. Massive food portions, delicious Bellbird burger and mixed bag in staff attitude is the easiest way to surmise the restaurant.
  
  Bellbird hotel review ~ 2/5 stars... we stayed for 1 night in the Bellbird hotel as we attended a festival nearby over the weekend and for $100+ a night the hotel was of a very poor standard. The rooms are small and stuffy and a damp smell permeates through the hotel. The communal bathrooms were dirty and need a good spring cleaning. As a plus was comfortable and fresh towels / soap were provided. Overall it's still got a bit of old world charm but management need to pick up their game a lot. Please note DO NOT try and leave the hotel in the morning before 11am as you will be locked out and your room key does not open the main hotel door.
