BACHELOR OF DANCE EDUCATION/ BACHELOR OF APPLIED DANCE
The Bachelor of Dance Education is a full-time four year dance course that focuses on developing dancers technique and performance.
The Bachelor of Dance Education prepares graduates to teach dance in the secondary school system, or apply their skills and knowledge in other educational contexts.
The degree is unique in Australia in that it positions the study and practice of dance as an art form within the broader context of physical activity and physical expression. Students who undertake this degree build a foundation for the lifelong development of skills and attributes appropriate to professional teachers.
Students simultaneously broaden their experience in dance and in physical education, in an environment that focuses on educational pedagogy. Both areas are supported by the study of personal development, health, and the anatomy of the human body.
Personal Development, Health, and Physical Education (PD/H/PE) is offered as a parallel course of study, enabling students to qualify in a second teaching method and a key learning area in secondary schools.
The Bachelor of Dance Education is endorsed by the NSW Department of Education.
BACHELOR OF APPLIED DANCE
The Bachelor of Applied Dance qualification delivers a mix of theoretical and experiential learning that will allow work-ready graduates to secure dance-related opportunities across many different industry contexts.
This innovative new course leverages ACPE’s longstanding expertise in offering the Bachelor of Dance Education, which is designed for those who are committed to a teaching career at secondary school level.
