Called at 8.30 Monday morning and was in the chair at 9.45. Dr Jim and his assistant did a great and painless job on my broken tooth. Great job 1300Smiles!

I had all four wisdom teeth removed and around 5 months after I started getting a pain in my back molar. I was worried I had nerve damage from the wisdom tooth extraction. I was aware that this is a possibility when I agreed to have them removed.
When I saw the dentist at 1300smiles he told me that I'd need root canal on 2 of my upper molars because they had 'died'' due to nerve damage. After receiving the quote in excess of $2000 and speaking with my private health. I decided to wait a bit until we could afford it. My mother in law suggested I get a second opinion and booked me into her dentist for just a check up.
During that checkup the dentist told me I had a large cavity in my rear molar that would need to be filled. I walked out of that dentist 5 years ago and paid $220 after a few xrays, scale and clean and a large filling. They have been my dentist ever since
Moral of the story: Get a second opinion. For the 3 years I was seeing 1300smiles I never once had the same dentist. They are all about getting the most out of you as possible, a scale and clean almost ALWAYS ended in extra xrays or fillings. Unfortunately this place and only 1 other dentist in Mackay are my private Healths "prefered" dentist which means I am rebated less with my new dentist.
I'm sure that would be the case for a lot of others. If you are seeing these people, be very skeptical with what they are recommending, especially if it's a major thing like root canal. Happy to say that 5 years on my "2 dead molars" are perfectly fine with the exception of one filling.response / report this review -

This place is a joke. They couldn't care less about you, they just want your money and to get you out the door. From what I can see only fresh uni graduates and incompetent dentists who couldn't get a job elsewhere work there.

Had a front tooth replace with a crown. Went in to fit it and dentist cracked itso I had to wait 4 weeks without a tooth. Second attempt she fitted it. Went back after seeing another dentist 12 months after and there own dentist whom was different to before said who did it. I reply here it was. As then shown that it has now made all my bottom teeth out of alignment. Now needing a retainer to fix. The crown was too thick and now more problems. I asked for a warranty and apparently 5 years but I am out of warranty due to not coming in 6 months ago. No one told me to attend to the visits to keep in warranty. It's going to cost thousands to fix this now they said. Not happy and I will be taking this to the dentistry board.

Called practice at short notice as had the day off work, they were able to fit me in for a booking later that same day!!! The Dentist was very gentle. Even better is that they do payment plans so I can pay my treatment off!!
