Chocolate factory with zoo! Have your fill with different flavoured chocolates and still enjoy with family the amazing views and animals in their walk through zoo! Tops my list of places we visited in 2017!

Best Chocolate of Austria. You get to taste everything, as much chocolate as you want for the quite small entrance fee. Everything is just nice and perfect!

That's really amazing experience and must-visit place for adults and children. Audio guide helps a lot to describe all stages of production. Free parking and caffee with homemade dishes. Views are amazing! The business idea is really brilliant. So much respect to Herr Zotter. Since now my favorite chocolate. Just wow!

This is a GREAT tour, and a must if you like chocolate. I must admit most factory tours in Europe leave something to be desired , and are not nearly as good as those in the USA or Canada. However, this is worth every cent, and you will want to buy a lot of souvenirs.

I really loved it at Zotter Chocolate Factory! Josef Zotter is a thinker, believer and a person who does things. You should definitely do the chocolate theater and use the Audioguide!

Three stars only because during the 18h tour production did not work any more, and we were not warned about that when booking a factory tour.
182 different flavors of various ingredients and finished chocolate products were offered on the test and this part of the tour was organized great! So great :)
Factory Shop is with an incredibly rich offer, so take a notebook and pen that you have at the beginning of the tour so you can write down what was tasty for you. Prices are bigger than usual for regular chocolates.

Really cool factory and self guided tour with an audio guide. We stopped using our audio guides after a while because it took too long. Pace yourself with the amount of chocolate you eat, as it continues for quite a while. Really good chocolate and a wide variety of options.

A really nice place where even those people are welcome, who do not like chocolate. The shop where you can buy chocolate after the guided tour is just humongous. All in all, a really nice experience you can go through by taking their guided tour, which also includes tasting of the different stages of chocolate, like cocoa, cocoa powder, liquid chocolate, etc.

Possibly the best attraction in Austria - we used to live in Vienna and this was a must visit whenever we had friends come and stay. When we came back for a visit this was ontop of our list of places to come visit and again it did not disappoint!
Of all the chocolate tours in the world this ranks up there if not the best (we have yet to discover better!). You can have unlimited chocolate! Yes unlimited and there are no caveats!
You should always book ahead and reserve tickets as this place can get busy, don't be put off by large crowds as this place is well organised and efficient. You are also told you can take as long as you want as long as it is during opening hours.
You start with a short video in German but with English subtitles which goes over the lengths Herr Zotter goes to sourcing eco friendly cacao beans and supporting fair trade. Hats off to him for what he has done and achieved.
Then you are let loose, you have your ceramic spoon and you definitely use it! You start off with liquid chocolate and you can try all kinds of variations from milk to dark as well as the very bitter unsweetened chocolate!
A handy tip, take a drink bottle in with you as there are water stations and you can eat more chocolate with some drinks in between.
Don't go crazy at the start but the liquid chocolate is my favourite stage.
Then comes the solid chocolate stages where you break of small slices :) then the hot chocolate stage with the cool cable car delivery system. This is a bottle neck and can get rather busy (also toilets here too).
Then comes the chocolate covered nuts and other similar chocolate and then you get to the fondant filled chocolate with all kinds of flavours. Then you have the shop! By the time you get to the shop you are usually so full of chocolate you don't want any more so I would
Go explore their farm/zoo to walk off a few calories and then come back!
Overall you easily spend a few hours here and make sure you don't rush it, well worth the travel time from vienna (about 2 hours) and either go on a bus tour or rent a car which is much easier.
Don't go to Austria and miss out on this place you'll be able to tell plenty of great stories when you get home about Zotter chocolate that most people have never heard of!response / report this review -

What a place! Absolutely amazed. The chocolate factory is just amazing, there are different stations that the show the progression of the chocolate manufacturing and you can taste everything throughout. Make just to not taste as much at the beginning, the delicious part are coming. You just feel like charlie at the chocolate factory. Afterwards you can eat in the garden restaurant and have a look at the animals. Definitely worth a visit, especially for families and groups.

Great place. Dedicated paths within the factory for the tour with tasting stations all through. The chocolate they make is delicious with several combinations of flavours. Be careful of not eating too much chocolate at the beginning, as the running chocolate bar is at the end with the best products. The restaurant was closed for winter. Would definitely visit again.
