Massive interior, very high ceilings, huge pillars, numerous religious drawings and statures in all sizes and shapes, enormous ancient cathedral with obvious admirable renovation after WW2 destruction, the whole structure makes you wonder about the amount of work and the exceptional engineering that were required to build such a great house of worship. What is supposed to be a wonderful spiritual and cultural experienced is a bit shaken by having to pay an entry fee for main hall and the adjoining museums.

This cathedral is absolutely impressive both from the outside and inside. In the inside it's pretty crowded with tourists, but don't miss the catacomb tour. In the left side, don't miss the tower - it has a lovely view and you can buy souvenirs at the top. These are 300+ steps, so take your time climbing it.

This cathedral is very impressive. There is an amusing story about the second tower and it's funding being appropriated elsewhere several times over more than a hundred years before they gave up and capped the second tower. I am not a local guide for Vienna so I suggest finding a guide that can give you some of the history of the cathedral and the city (that's what i did).

If you go here visit the catacombs. I'm just get the all inclusive tour. You can get much better pictures of the church and the price is appropriate. If you are short on time skip the North tower if you can only do 2 of the 3 things

A must visit historic cathedral if you are in Vienna. Inside there is a church, museum of bones below and place where they store some royal treasures upstairs. It's peaceful and eye pleasing sight. You'll be lucky if the choir is going on.

Impressive building with so many details makes you think at the hard work made almost a thousand years ago without the tools and technology of today. Fabulous art masterpiece represented at the largest scale possible.

Absolutely stunning. So detailed and the acoustics are hair raising. Definitely worth a visit. Just look up and admire how people with no tools of today built this thing. Only Cons: Heaps of tourists and some homeless/mentally disabled guy was playing with himself at the door. Lots of beggars.

Great site but very touristy. Have to dodge the people out front selling tours and packages. Saw many people run into the church to escape a rain storm and then sit everywhere, floor, alters. A cool church but not as cool as others I've seen in Europe. Gift shop is very small. The beautiful roof is the best feature.

Beautiful Romanesque and Gothic Cathedral. The site goes back to the first parish church in 1147 but current cathedral dates to the middle 1300's. Incredible pipe organ and if you are there to hear the choir the acoustics for song are tremendous. Voices ring within the stone walls. Typical Gothic high arched ceilings. Not a lot of stained glass but there is a lot of artwork. Camera friendly, even during services.

A must visit if you are in vienna. Be sure to go to one of the towers to experience a beautiful view of the city. The neighborhood is filled with Cafe's and shops and is good to wander around for a couple of hours.

St. Stephen's Cathedral or Stephansdom as it is called in Austria, is situated in the very heart of Vienna. The cathedral has an amazing ornamented roof and the total of 23 bells. The sound of the organ is absolutely stunning. Take time to climb ub the two towers - the view from above over Vienna is really wonderful.

One of the most surprising stops in our time in Vienna. St. Stephan's is truly stunning. Get the "all inclusive" ticket if you have the time. The views from the tower are wonderful and offer an up-close view of the ornate cathedral roof. The catacomb tour had a great guide and wanders through old and be catacombs and views of mass graves. The audio tour allows access to the natives and alter and provides a history of the church's construction. The best part, surprisingly, was the treasure room. Though we are not very interested in the many guilded Catholic relics here, the rooms offer some of the most majestic views of cathedral's interior.

Awe-inspiring yet very easy to become lost within! I had hoped the church would have provided more information [history/map+locations, etc.] to educate and assist visitors desiring to expand their understanding of this beautiful, impressive and historic structure!
