You have to try their legendary cake. It's my favorite dessert, period. It's basically perfect. Also excellent coffee and the café has really nice interior and very professional service.

Went to have an Austrian experience of coffee and a slice of the famous Sacher Torte. Lovely building and interior with waitresses dressed in their old fashioned black and white dresses and aprons.
Quite a long queue but we didn't have to wait too long. A little dissapointed with the Sacher Torte as it was dry.response / report this review -

The least pleasant experience so far in this journey is here. The waitress wasn't very attentive, took us 15 minutes to get someone to take our order after repeatedly trying to get their attention. And about 45 minutes to get the cake delivered to our table because the waitress forgot the order. Luckily their cake was delicious, but I wouldn't recommend everyone based on the service level.

Sacher cake is absolutely tasty, so is the tea. The staff (don't know her name) is very friendly and helpful. Price is reasonable. Totally recommend.

A must see, and taste as well! Welcoming, friendly service, and the Sacher-torte was simply amazing; fresh, moist and delicious. Very very tasty - worth every cent of its price. No queues or waiting at 9am when we visited.

For my part it's best Sacher cake ever. I went after Opera and I didn't wait in line. It wasn't overcrowded and I fully enjoy it

We stayed at the hotel in one of the suites. The accommodations were great. The staff is professional and top notch. My only complaint in the food. The Sacher torte is dry and "nothing to write home about". I get the feeling it used to be great but now it's mass produced. Lunch in the cafe and dinner in the restaurant were ok but certainly not great. If the food matched the hotel we would be talking 5 stars here. I will try again on my next visit.

My intention was to have breakfast at Cafe Sacher but accidentally entered this small cafe at the corner. The tables and chairs here are not cozy enough or have enough space for meals, having a cup of coffee and a cake will be fine. Too crowded and the staffs are not very friendly.

Their specialty cake is really good and is a must try when visiting Vienna. The only downside is that because it's a "tourist attraction," there are a lot of people so it's difficult to take your time and enjoy your cake and coffee. Also, some unfriendly staffs give you hints to head out when you're almost done. So, really, all you can do is wait in line, get in, take a sit and order, quickly eat it, and leave. I'd still give it four stars for the taste though.

Amazing cake and coffee. Worth the (short) wait. Definitely try their signature chocolate cake (torte) and indulge a little!
