Absolutely amazing food and great service! The live acordonan music was absolutely lovely and set for a great ambiance
Very cosy and good service. Loved the history and the food was traditional not too fancy. Reasonable price but not lower end of budget.
Lovely location and excellent food combined with attentive service and a building that oozes character and history. Well worth a visit.
Excellent service and food. Because our plates got a bit wet due to a sudden downpour, when we moved indoors our dinners were replaced. The food was delicious and what atmosphere! An historic restaurant from 1447 visited by the likes of Mozart, Beethoven, Mark Twain, as well as Snoop Dog.
The history of this place can't be beat. We asked for a tour and got an enthusiastic one, which includes the room with signatures. It was neat to see.
The photo shows the remnants of the goulash, a giant dish that I ate so fast I forgot to take a photo.
Great traditional food, and very good service. Had pork loin which was tasty and family had fried chicken. One of us ordered a risotto which came undercooked, we complained and they fixed it and provided free cake and desserts. Definitely made up for it. Live piano also added to the atmosphere. Would recommend.
Yes, it's the oldest restaurant in Vienna and it is in a very old and interesting building - worth a minute or two to look around. The two of us both had wonderful meals with good service. It's April and relatively quiet, and some reviewers who were less enchanted with the service might have been at busier times of year. We had a particularly fine 2015 Gruner Veltliner to drink, but no doubt availability changes. We didn't have Sachertorte but a couple nearby did, and the firework display put the usual sparklers to shame! It is expensive, but it is fun and that's what holidays are about.
A must visit in Vienna! Scrumptious, less crowded with a traditional atmosphere! Beef tartar starter was a beautiful entry to a delicious dinner, perfectly spiced and a delight to look at. As main I tried the famous Wiener Schnitzel and I have to say it is second to none (and I tried the same meal in several places including Figlmuller). Service was very kind and even showed us at the end of the meal the Mark Twain room with all the signatures from famous people all over the world!
Decent food, even if a bit overpriced. But the historical building is worth a visit. Ensure you check the "signatures" room before you leave the place.
Excellent food and service. The people working there treat you with some old school service which I hadn't seen for ages. We were lucky enough to have live piano performance which added to our overall experience! Definitely recommend Griechenbeisl if you're ever in Vienna. Booking in advance is also recommended. Enjoy!
