One of the “hearts” of Vienna. In summer the film festival takes place. It is really magic to watch films in an “outdoor cinema” like this! Additionally, if you become hungry, then you are lucky. There are a lot of small restaurants that offer different kind of food. You can find Hungarian, American, Greek, Mexican, Arabic, Chinese food! You take your dish with the delicious food to an outdoor desk nearby or even to the park that is beside the restaurants.
A beautiful building that serve as city hall, overlooking a large arena used for musical shows in the summer and the place for the biggest and most famous Christmas market in Vienna.
The huge and amazing state building. The front of the building is close to middle of the January 2018.
Amazing construction Gothic architecture of Friedrich von Schmidt. you can find out about all the city's issues. There is also a tourist office. It is graphic and Christmas shopping that is done outdoors.
I was at the Vienna City Hall in the Christmas Market and I was very impressed, here you can feel the magic of Christmas holidays . There were over 100 wooden houses with Christmas decorations, traditional food and hot drinks (hot wine, Punch, eggnog), toys, sweets, clothes.
When the evening comes and all the lights are turned on you can feel the true magic of Christmas spirit.
Really nice architecture and close by to Hofburg and next to the Parliament, with a pretty park infront, nice in the summer and Christmas Markets in the winter,
Magnificent building that hosts not only the Mayor's offices but also other services like the library, Fire department, a restaurant and others. The square in front is a place for a huge summer festival or the Christmas market. Full of life all year!
Excelent choice for a pleasent end of evening on summer. Good food, music and very quality beer.
I like the concept of Rathaus in major European Cities, the idea of Centralized town hall is great.
..
Its a Great place to visit in Vienna, a Splendid piece of Architecture.
i'm sue it's a great tour, if you can find it
arrived at 12.40 on a monday for the tour. a group of people already assembled at (what appears to be) the main entrance, facing the rathausplatz, under the huge 'welcome' sign. we all patiently waited till 1300 and no one showed up. i then walked round the building and eventually found an entrance from one of the side steers which med into an info desk, who told me i was too late for the tour (1305). such a shame as it looks like a beautiful building and you can't go round without the tour.
some signs about this or info on the website would be helpful!
Super Christmas market place. I like it most of all cities I have visited. The decoration is breathtaking and kids love that incl. all attractions.
The Rathaus is one of the building projects that commence during the beautification of Vienna along the Ringstrasse. Although considered a new building, its architecture took cues from gothic styles and the end result is a standout star with 5 magnificent towers. On top of the central steeple, which you can’t see unless you walk closer is the Rathausmann, a statue of a medieval knight that guards the Rathaus.
From afar, one can mistake the Rathaus for a cathedral but it’s Vienna’s City Hall and the official seat of its mayor. I wouldn’t mind an office in a building like this. I wonder if I can climb up the steeple and glance a view from the top. I suppose there’s possibly a way and I bet the view from up there is amazing.
Its really nice place, lots of festivals has happened there also beautiful new year ceremony. I suggest everyone to visit there
Take a quick trip to this beautifully designed city hall. I appreciated the view and just sat there in amazement, wondering how someone could create something that beautiful. Would highly recommend.
