Well worth it. Sonja and Franz did an amazing tour. During the winter months, be sure to get the morning tour. If stuck with the afternoon tour, stop by the Mirabellgarten before your tour. It's located directly across the street from the bus pickup. It's the last thing on the tour and you can't see too much in the dark. The rest of the tour has plenty of daylight in late November.
Sound of Music songs and trivia coming out of every pore on this trip. Get ready for SoM karaoke.
Added bonus during the Christmas season, the stop at the Gazebo has a Christmas Market going on. You get a few minutes to wander through, before re-boarding the bus.
Hop on hop off lady driver was arrogant and rude. Not worth taking hop on hop off bus tour in salzburg. Drivers don’t stop on stoppages.
Sound of music tour lady guide (lisa) wAs amazing. She was very nice and humble too.
Salt mines tour guide was just okay.
Took a tour with Walter today. It was a small group going to Berchtesgaden and the salt mines.
Walter was friendly, informative and had a great sense of humor. I definitely recommend taking a tour with him.
Skip the coffee. Take a walk for a great photo. If you walk west from the tourism center and go behind Bier-Adam you will find two walking paths. They are marked by the blue sign of a person walking with a child. Take the left one that's steep. When you come to the first crossroads, walk in front of the house to your right. You should see a wood railed path. This will take you to the best view of the city.
The salt mines were cool. The slide was fast and fun.
Definitely go on the tour.
Fantastic! Our tour guide for the day was Walter. His 40 something years in the industry is invaluable as his commentary is both entertaining and informative. Very well organised tour to Hitler's Eagles Nest and the Salt Mines. Comfortable coach which ran on time. Highly recommended!
