Really nice classic Viennese cafe. A friend, who was born in Vienna, recommended this to me and it did not disappoint.
For what is meant to be one of the best cafes in Vienna I was not impressed! Was served out of date apple juice which I had already drunk before realising! Not ideal in any situation but as I am pregnant was not very happy about this. Raised it with the waitress who looked at me and husband as if we were mad saying it is ok only just out of date what is the problem! By only just she meant two weeks out of date! No apology even through I am obviously pregnant and said I was a bit worried about it, all she offered was us another one! Obviously not what I wanted. She then said she would talk to her manager and came back with a new bill. This time my drink had been removed and so had my husbands which I thought was a goodwill gesture (still no apology just a 'sometimes it happens' and 'I am sure it is fine'!) I went to the bathroom leaving my husband to pay the bill, however, when we left he said he paid the bill and the waitress realised she had removed his drink from the bill in error and added it back on! Disgraceful - the whole bill should have been free especially as they didn't even say sorry. If you go here just check your produce. Will now wait and see if I get sick from it tomorrow!
Overly expensive mediocre cakes, definitely a tourist trap. Service was not friendly at all, and the cafe area is extremely dated (not in a charming way).
Very good. Really nice staff and superb Viennese Coffee!
Loved the apple strudel and the cappuccino. Nice and calm place.
Discovered this place by chance and really lovely. Vienna at its best and great service
One of the best places in town to sample cakes and sweets! And it is complementary to Demel, as fortunately a lot of things you get here you don't get there and the other way round too. I prefer taking the cakes out, because I get slightly claustrophobic in this overly authentic Viennese environment, including surprisingly friendly staff dressed in Austrian folklore But for such cakes, I'm ready to hold my breath every time.
Really enjoyed this place. It has a cozy, "grandma made it" feel to it. The food was good and the service was friendly!
Typical Viennese Sweets and cakes at a reasonable price.
As an inhabitant of Vienna, I must say that this is my favourite place for coffee and cake. Staff is quick and competent, the tables at the window in the first floor are very cosy and the choice of cakes is excellent. The price is acceptable, especially considering what you get for it - and in comparison with other cities in Western Europe, it's actually cheap.
The Walnut cake was excellent, not terribly sweet laejrs of nuts and light cream. The coffee is good however the tea was so so.
very nice coffee and tea. The cakes are all wonderful.
Excellent cakes and old timey décor. We had a lot of fun there.
