When I first walked into this hotel, I thought it was beautiful and the front desk staff was so nice. They showed me to my room, which was also beautiful. I was thinking that I wanted to give this hotel five stars. Then everything went downhill. In my first room, the cleaning people had left the window wide open, with no screens. As common sense would dictate, there was a very large insect sitting right next to the window. Now let me note that I purposely don't go to Third World countries because I hate bugs. When I come to a beautiful and clean country like Austria, I expect it not to be a problem. I grabbed a hanger and I shoved the bug out of the window, and assumed that it was just bad luck. However, I left and came back that night, and there was another gigantic bug sitting on the wall. I tried to smash it, but it got away. Then I noticed two or three other insects flying around. I also noticed 3 other bugs smashed onto the walls by previous guests. I called the front desk and the guy was really nice and offered to switch my room. By now it was 11 PM, and I was exhausted. I told him I would be fine with any room without bugs, even if it was a downgrade. I moved all my stuff over to a second room and within two seconds noticed a gigantic fly sitting on the wall. I might've been able to live with that, but then I went to the bathroom and there was a gigantic spider in the bathtub.At this point, the front desk guy informed me there is only one other room left. I told him I thought we should check the room together. We found two more bugs in the third room. One was a large leggy insect and the other was a flea. One he was able to reach and to smash with a book. The other one was a beyond easy reach, so he grabbed a bottle of glass cleaner and used that to kill it. Needless to say, I tipped him because he was very nice and he did his job. Once he left- I saw another spider. I killed it, but I didn't sleep all night because I was so traumatized by all the bugs. The hotel should really be ashamed of itself. For close to €200 a night, I expect to not be barraged by bugs! It seems like I might've been better off paying €20 for a hostel. After all, in my younger days of staying in multiple youth hostels all over Europe, I never once saw a bug. And then in one night,I saw more bugs in this one hotel than I have seen in all of the hotels I've stayed in throughout my lifetime combined. To the hotel management- I want an apology. And while the front desk was nice enough to discount my rate, you should be embarrassed to be charging any money at all for such an awful experience. I really loved Salzburg and its lovely people, and now unfortunately I'm leaving with a very bad taste in my mouth.

The Villa has nicely updated rooms and they are well -kept. The only negative is that the towels should be replaced as they are showing their age. The parking is outstanding - it can be a challenge in Salzburg so the attached, no fee lot for hotel guests is great. The location is good for walking to most of Salzburg's attractions.

Easily my favorite hotel on my bavarian vacation. The staff is wonderful, helpful, and enthusiastic. The rooms are gorgeously designed in a contemporary and updated fashion that still manages to be quite comfortable. The location is terrific and close to anything worthwhile, but they provide free bike rentals for a lovely option to extend your range, as well. The WiFi is admittedly quite weak, but that was a small price to pay for our suite. I will happily stay here again.

Very modern and new. Rooms are surprisingly spacious and the breakfast buffet is fresh and healthy. Close to shopping, and a short walk from Old Town.
