It's worth for the view or to take a break form a walk in Kahlenberg. The food is okay, but nothing really special.

The commentary on our Red Bus Tour of Vienna recommended a visit to a traditional winemakers hut so we were surprised when we were invited to Heuriger Hirt by Viennese relatives of our travelling companions. Wow what a view! Great company with simple traditional rustic food and local wine. Afterwards we went over the hill to view Vienna by night from another viewpoint. A great experience

Although this place may seem like allot of work to get to, it was totally worth the effort. This was one of the most unique eating experiences I have had in my lifetime. Of all the places I dined in my 18 day European trip, this was most memorable. The food was excellent, the wine was perfect and the views were spectacular. It was completely out of the ordinary. We walked 1/2 mile up a very steep hill to get to the restaurant because we were taking public transportation. My 79 year old mother made it up and down the hill and she said it was totally worth the trip.
