The quantity was good, the quality not so much. We had deer, schnitzel, käsespätzle, garlic bread, maroni soup, pumpkin soup and a salad. Everything below average, but ok for the price.

went on an off peak hours (11am)on a Sunday. A local rustic environment with limited space. Had pork chop & dumpling. The local brew beer was good, after taste is not too strong. friendly staff that could give recommendation on local food. worth the price for food quality

Only have a coffee there, quite pricy. The setup is good, it has indoor, outdoor and a court yard seats. Good atmosphere.

We found this restaurant based on recommendations from the internet and our entire family can confirm that this is a great restaurant for families with kids. There is a great variety of dishes, very delicious and well served. When the waiter takes your order, they usually bring a basket of pretzels and baguettes to start with. There are seats outside on the pedestrian street, suitable for people watchers, or inside, mostly on wooden benches or high chairs. The meals are good in size, so you'd better finish one thing before ordering another. The kids dishes come with a surprise, usually in the form of a lollipop. Prices are very reasonable and we haven't had problems finding seats, although we were a bit off season in September.

Not so bad, not so good. Gulash was not my taste. The meat was not what I expected. Great interior and service, though.

    Very nice place
I visited this restaurant after my friend suggested.
Delicious food, good atmosphere and friendly service.
I was speaking half English, half German and they were really patient and kind with me.
    Vielen Dank!

Good restaurant but busy. The food tastes really good and well priced (not cheap but not overpriced). The asparagus soup was delicious and the desserts looked amazing but we were too full from the food to order any dessert.

Great atmosphere, good food. Subtracting one point for a cold Knödel. I mentioned it to the waiter and I did not make a fuss about it. It would have been a nice gesture from the restaurant though if the Espresso would have been on the house. Second time here and it won't be my last!

Some of the nicest food in Austria. Great service, beer and food. The pork knuckle and duck were both delicious.

I visited Salzburg during the last weekend of October. Me and my friend wanted to taste something local for our first dinner. We started walking in one of the main streets in the old city and found Alter Fuchs. The atmosphere inside was very cosy and there were few people standing waiting for a table. This seemed a good sign. We entered and waited for approximately 15min and we got our table. We were determined to get a schnitzel each but my friend saw a plate for two so we went for that. The dish was absolutely delicious with a variety of meat, potatoes (wedges style) and ratatouille, it is one of the best meals I've ever had. We drunk Weiss beer (light and dark respectively) which was also quite tasty, and this comes from the lips of somebody who is not a beer person.
I totally recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants to try original, local food. I wish there more stars for rating!
