Decided we would do one of the classic cafes whilst in Vienna (family of four with a 10 and 12 year old). Arrived soon after opening for breakfast- and were served promptly by an exceptionally lovely waitress. Food was in fenerous portions and quite good (this is not haute cuisine- but fresh squeezed juice, warm
delicious rolls etc). 53 euros for complete breakfast for four with coffe and chocolate. All things considered, fairly reasonable in a over-priced city. And the ambience is lovely.
Very nice food and atmosphere, however the service is horrible. Waitresses 2 Young ones were extremely rude. Ruined the place.
Great cafe, great service. Fast service is rare in Vienna, not intentionally, but because it’s so busy. Here, the staff is constantly in motion, whereas most people in Vienna prefer to stroll leisurely. The apple strudel was the best I’ve had in Vienna. The sacher cake was ok. (November 2017)
Great atmosphere! We had one of the best apfelstudels. Charming place with very nice desserts and food!
Nice atmosphere and simple but good food. Our waitress was also friendly but she overcharged us with 2 teas and we only had one. Then I payed for 3 cakes for takeaway and only got 2 which I realized when I was already at home. Things like that can happen by accident but we had the worst experience with the other two waitresses: we got seated and suddenly another waitress came by and only said that it would be her table and it's reserved without an apology and in the rudest manner. We had to wait another 10 minutes for a table. The best was at the end when we payed at the front where they store the cakes. I was literally pushed away by a waitress in a very aggressive way. That's definitely not how you treat a customer.
I had really nice breakfast here. I recommend this old cosy cafe if you're nearby.
Classic, historic feel with excellent coffee and good food. Service is polite but it is a Vienna cafe so you will not have a waiter stop by unless you wave them over. Excellent for a calm quiet time reading.
Nice classic Viennese coffee house. Like most coffee houses, they also have a smallish menu of meals. All good quality at at non-tourist prices.
Very good coffeehouse, my favourite in Vienna. Has a nice atmosphere and is one of the least touristy of the major coffee houses. Has a nice variety of good coffees, as well as hearty Viennese meals and good pastries!
What a wonderful place in the inside and outside seats are good to. The risotto was amazing it is there specialty I highly recommend this place for a coffee cakes or foods. Friendly staff too, enjoy your time there, I sure did.
i dont know what to think about this place. ppl keep saying how wonderful it is... but i find it average... i got here ham & eggs here but that was below average ( ham was almost cold and eggs almost raw).
Superb coffee, food, and service in a relaxed and unassuming atmosphere -- my favorite
Nice authentic place with live music on Sunday at lunch time. Food seems authentic and is pretty good. Quick service.
Traditional Viennese caffe from 1880! Great food and atmosphere. Excellent service. Also has a corner with toys for children. My favorite cafe in Vienna.
Authentic, Old Style Café. Just had a hot chocolate. Very standard (not bad, just not special); deserts look good. But you don't even need the food to come here. Just the atmosphere is enough. Cozy, slow, authentic waiters (it's beyond a job, almost a talent -of course best appreciated if you understand German). People talk, you won't see laptops and few phones. Pure style.
