  Definitely one of my favourite restaurants in the 8th district. I love to have breakfast here. The stuff is really nice and friendly. They even have new meals on the menu, which includes a lot of new vegan and vegetarian food. The atmosphere is nice and I can recommend it for every age. Always a pleasure.

  Very rude even by Austrian standards. Mean and careless staff, breakfast nothing special which is okay if it was fresh, however the bread was not fresh at all. How difficult it is to smile and be nice to your customers? I don't get it why such people are in this business.

  The worst experience in my life. I have never been treated by anyone with such rudeness as I was by the blonde woman who works here. I and some friends politely ordered our food and the manager working there was rude, arrogant, dismissive and just had a terrible demeanour. She didn't like that we were speaking English and she was very rude. A waitress told us that she is Polish, but it doesn't matter what language we speak. She should treat everyone the same. Especially because we were polite and normal.
  
  I also saw her screaming at some other customers and one of the customers started to cry! I couldn't believe it.
  
  I feel very sorry for the people who have to work with her as I have never in my entire life met a more repulsive and mean woman. If this place gave free food I would still not eat there.
  
  For sure, this blonde woman is some sort of psychopath or she had a terrible childhood, because she is the meanest and rudest person I have ever met.
  
  I recommend everyone take your money and eat elsewhere as this place does not deserve any customers.
  
  The food is also very average and is not worth the money. It is a pity because 3 years ago when they had different managers the food was excellent and cheap, and the service was also good. Now it is a disaster and I will never go there again.

  A restaurant with a great service, delicious and very well served food with various vegetarian and vegan options and fair prices, it's run by a friendly family staff that always aim for costumers leaving satisfied and smiling.
  A wonderful relaxing atmosphere inside with the bar area offering a range of beverages from coffee to cocktails,and a refreshing outside garden area.
  Had a wonderful time and I highly recommend Cafe Merkur for families, couples,students and all types of groups.

  Superb food, wonderful service & an excellent conversation with the owner and her daughter. Conveniently close to the Rathaus and tube. What more could one want?

  Food is fine, service is a little slow, but price is excellent! If you are after a cheap, varied, international menu with good vegetarian options, then come, but don't set your expectations too high!

  Loved the atmosphere (chill and relaxed), the service (waitress was super nice an funny) and especially the food!
  They have vegetarian options of the main dishes!
