  Yes, the atmosphere is shabby chic. An yes, the slightly stand-offish staff is part of the shabby chic-ness. Where they are lacking in personality is the menu. What I tasted reminded me more of a bland cafeteria than the quirky place it is.

  Maybe Vienna's best authentic old-school shabby chic. Definitely an absolute must see. Don't come here for the food though, but for the phantastic atmosphere, to hang out!

  My 2nd home in Vienna, great mix of people. All language newspapers. Quiet. Great meeting place. No stress. Coffee, viennoiserie, but also snacks and wine. Grand athmosphere like in the 50s.

  Traditional Vienna Cafe. just around the corner from me. Its like being in my own lounge at times, Wonderful warming stove. Three coloured rooms, it took me a while to realise, green, red and blue. Great sets of old pictures on the walls. Piles of flyers to sort through, and many newspapers...

  Lovely, rustic, classic Viennese café with friendly service and a fireplace. My favourite café in Vienna for hanging out and getting some work done while enjoying a mokka or two (and maybe some cake).
