Historical café where I found the best Sacher cake and wide delicious selection of coffees

Absolutely appalling behaviour by staff, they try to intimidate people into paying for more than they ordered, add things to your bill and assume you won't notice, then when you do they are confrontational and aggressive. The only reason they are still in business is that they are a TOURIST TRAP.

Great food in beautiful surroundings. Try the Kaffe "Pharisaer".
Waiters are typical of this part of Europe.
They come across as abrupt but are actually pleasant & very accommodating.
A visit here is definitely recommended.

Definitely come for the music! The food, prices, hours, and atmosphere are all good as well, but the music is what makes it. It's a violin and piano duo that play a lot of waltzes, folk tunes, and a bit of jazz.

Took a long time before waiter came to take our order then a long time again before the drinks came. Coffee was average and expensive. Then the waiter didn't come and clear our plates until we actually stopped him and asked for the cheque. When we paid he stayed at our table as we got our bags ready and said "Service is not included", as if we were going to pay a service charge for the terrible service we recieved. He continued to stay at the table looking at us until we left. Awful, would absolutely not recommend.

Coffee is good, but the staff is very rude and they decide their own tip and don't care what you said

Nice cafe in a busy part of the city. Staff were polite and attentive. Food was ok (we only had toasties). Reasonably priced given the location.

I love this cafe, it is my favourite in Vienna and is a grand cafe on the Ringstraße and well worth visiting. My all time favourite here is the "Alt Wiener Art" hot chocolate. It is the best hot chocolate I've ever had and i have had a few. It is mixed with vanilla and cinnamon and the cream ontop is divine. Doesn't leave you thinking you had too much but you wouldn't want too much more either.

The staff are efficient, courteous and very typical of Vienna. This isn't American customer service so get used to it being different. You won't be hurried out and you can take your time. You won't be pestered all the time either and sometimes you have to work a bit to grab their attention but that is a nice touch.

The food is very nice but the atmosphere and relaxing is what you come for. Don't leave until you tried the hot chocolate, you won't be disappointed.

Very rude staff, we asked for a second glass of water with our desserts and the waiter said "bottle only". In my country, offering water is a matter of hospitality, so we declined. The waiter mumbled "yes, if it costs money you don't want it". Average place overall, supremely rude staff. Pass.

Nice place, but not very polite waiters. They remind you more than 3 times you need to tip, even when you say ok I understood you.

Great place to visit. I had outstanding service and a great meal. It has a lot of interesting history behind the building and the waiting staff were genuinely attentive and helpful. I'd definitely return there again for a meal or a coffee break.
