This cafe is great for a quick or long stop. The staff are friendly and the food and drinks weren't bad either. Also the famous historical figures that have gone here and also the more modern famous figures like Richard Ayoade, who was in the it crowd, the watch and much more, have made this cafe a very interesting place. The only problem is the long wait time to get in sometimes.
Expensive, nice ambiance but so-so service. This was our first meal in Vienna and we opted for the small meals. My 5.5 euro soup was served in a tiny bowl and bread was extra. The soup was okay. The piano player was lovely. I wouldn’t recommend, if you’re hungry and looking for reasonable value.
Very good interiors. Good enough pastries and coffees. Didn't find anything outstanding with respect to pastries and coffees, since there are many places in Vienna that do them good. Can visit for its connection to great people in history. Go early in the day to avoid crowd and enjoy the place in peace. Decent prices.
Having tried a little of everything, I can say that while delicious, I expected a tad more. The cakes were dry, but at least they didn't try to remedy that by bathing them in simple syrup. The strudel was delicious, and the coffees fantastic. Perhaps I'm being overly critical, as I did enter this establishment with incredibly high standards (as it is world famous), but you still won't be disappointed. The ambience was amazing, service was kind and prompt, and thus I'd certainly return for the "entire package", even if the actual pastries didn't all live up to my overly lofty expectations ;)
Lovely place and really nice ambience. One of the worse service I have ever received. The service itself made me give this place such low review. Rude, dismissive, ignorant and the adjectives keep adding on. Waited for the waiter to take our order for 38 mins. And the place was surprisingly empty. Also, noticed terribly rude behaviour with an Asian tour group. Pay the same price and you can go to a better cafe at any of the countless old nice places around the city. Disappointed.
The best cafe in Vienna! Always well served! Good desserts, cakes, nice atmosphere with live music; what else do you need
Had a light lunch to save room for the spectacular desserts. Excellent service and ambiance. Suggest going off-peak times as it can be very crowded
Fantastic time. The staff were helpful and the service was quick. The food was undescribable and we're beautifully presented. A great place for anyone (including tourist) for a small snack or lunch bite! 😁
Exceedingly nice people and service! Food is very good and price is not extreme. Beautiful setting and piano playing. Highly recommend. Closes at 6, but we had a nice early shared dinner of wiener schnitzel, goulash soup and steak tartar. Beautiful desserts too.
It is rare to have this kind of old cafe in Vienna with great music and coffee and desserts! Come to cafe at 5pm or 6 you can enjoy live piano music. Also order a cake with Wiener Latte would be the best way to experience Viennese lifestyle!
My wife and I stopped in on a whim for dessert. We found ourselves surrounded by music from a live pianist and a beautiful interior. We enjoyed delicious strudel and coffee. Perfect end to a night out.
Great tasting desserts. We didn't get a chance to see the lunch menu until we noticed other people we a different set of menus. We had to wait a bit outside (15-20 min) before being seated. Recommend getting one of their pastries shown at the front instead of ordering dessert from the menu.
One of the top places in Vienna, it is also the oldest cafe in the city. The food is always excellent. Definitely worth ordering a Viennese Ice coffee or Viennese goulash. The prices are good given its location and popularity, though you may have to prepare for a good 20-30 min wait if you are visiting in the middle of the day.
Famous cafe place in a beautiful historic building with a lot of stories to tell. The service was pretty fast and nice. The coffee is good but the cakes are very tasty. Prices are quite high as it is a touristic place but at least you can try once in a lifetime. Thumbs up for this one.
