Returned a rented VW Golf here. No problem with the car and the service was overall good. Somehow the car got scratches. Luckily I had premium insurance so I didn't need to pay excess.

Worst service ever. Our plane was late. We arrived at the desk 10 minutes after office hours. Eventhough they had our flight number the desk was closed with no information left. All other car rentals had kept open for the customers from delayed flights. The hotline didn't know anything. Next day: called three times, they promised to call back. Nothing happened. Hours later we insisted to stay in the line untill they could give us an info what happened to the already paid booking. They sent us to another office in the city center saying we could pick up the car there instead. There a very unfriendly clerk said we could only make a new booking, which we did because of the lack of other options after having lost almost a day. Conclusion: they don't communicate. When they do they don't know anything or simply lie. And it is virtually impossible to talk to airport office directly. They simply don't answer the phone. Not even when their own hotline is calling them.

Just 5 min late (5 min after midnight) due to a delayed flight and it was already closed. Tried to call them 4 hours in advantage, but no change at all to reach them over their hotline (what happens in the case of an accident?). All other care hire companies were still open because they waited for delayed customer (why europcar not???). Best, they still charged me the full price (I didn't get a car!!!) and I was forced to rent another car at one of the other car hire companies (which is more expensive without pre-booking). Never use europcar again

Cheaters!!!! Beware , don't rent cars from them. They charged me euros 660 for very small scratches already on the car. And said you can claim insurance if damage is over euros 900. Cheaters !!!

Rip off artist. The rented me a van that had been in multiple collisions with damage an all sides.
I asked where that was documented on the contract. They pointed to a list of codes that showed the damage.
I took photos of the van on all sides.
At turn in they said I damaged the vehicle. I asked what was the new damage. They would not say.
I took another set of photos. There was no new damage.
A few months later I received a bill for around $1500.00. It was not enough to fix all the damage. I asked which damage that was for. They would not say.
They sent it into a collection agency in the USA. Which I told the facts to but they just do what they do.
