If you are visiting Salzburg, do yourself a favor and stay here. Well worth the 20 minute drive from Salzburg. Gorgeous hotel in an idyllic setting. Rooms are beautiful, grounds are breathtaking, staff is wonderful. The dinner at the restaurant facing the lake is a bit formal but delicious. Would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat. Simply wonderful.

I stayed at Schloss Fuschl am FuschlSee quite a number of times, at least 7 or 8. Sometimes, taking - with business colleagues - the entire hotel, other times just my wife and I. This was in the 70s and early 80s. The area is breathtakingly beautiful and the facilities First Class. The place has a very special history, dating back to pre-war days and has long been managed very very well. I just looked at the pictures and it appears that some additional accommodations have been built (we always stayed in the main building and I was often given the top room upstairs looking out on the lake). I would love to be there right now and heartily recommend the place.
