One of the best bars I have been too. The owner was super nice and even opened up his doors to us after he was closed so we could have a beer.

What a fantastic beach once you go past Pago Pago harbour. The owners are full of information about the local food and culture. If you are in American Samoa for a short trip, you should definitely stop by Tisa's. Every Wednesday, they have a Samoan style dinner, but you must book ahead of schedule. If you want, you can go earlier (if you arrange it with them) in the day, and help them pick produce from their farm.

Want to feel like you are with family??? Wonderful place on the back of the island. Very personal service and the food is incredible. Call ahead so they know to prepare a traditional dinner. Views are great and it right on the water. First time I was here was 1994 and last was in the spring of 2017.

Call ahead to see if they are doing a BBQ night - 1) you will need to reserve in advance if they can fit you in and 2) they won't be serving food otherwise, only to the BBQ guests. BBQ itself was pretty good even though it seemed like it won't be enough for the number of guests we had but in the end, everyone seemed to have gone for as many seconds and thirds as they wanted and was stuffed. Both food and drinks were quite pricey. They do have some rooms for rent and a decent snorkeling area (probably the only one on the island) in front.

Tisa's is the quintessential beach bar. Surfboards hang from the ceiling and the bar is literally made out of entirely local materials such as palm fronds. They have their own private beach on which you can enjoy your freshly made pina colada (made with real coconut!). They have an umu (traditional Samoan feast cooked over hot rocks buried in the ground) once a week for $40 which is a great way for visitors to see some local culture while indulging in a fantastic meal. If you're looking for more moderate fare, the tuna appetizer is to die for and they make the best banana/plantain chips around. Go for the jazz festival or annual tattoo festival for an even wilder experience.

It's a great place to have a meal and tropical drink and to converse with the owners and locals. Went there several times while visiting on the island.
